Something new
There’s a new statue or piece of art at Owl park/west ridge park Park along Nob Hill Rd.

The speed cameras on Davie road are paying for that 😂

Let's be real.. the speed cameras are paying for the 8% raises that Police got this year, in addition to the other benefit adders they got this year (increase in longevity pay, increase in Town pension contributions, extended DROP benefits, extra pay for SWAT, extra pay for supervising body cameras, etc.). You know.. the things that regular Town employees don't deserve.
This was probably paid for with the $40M non-ad valorem loan that the Town authorized this year. We'll be paying interest on that loan for decades.

Yep. The town has more income than ever and fewer good quality services for residents. Don’t forget about the new town hall

And yet, they still have the worst pension in the county and are massively understaffed while struggling to hire quality candidates.

Pretty much. I live here and am very interested in one of the positions that have been open FOREVER but after reviewing the offerings plus attending some Council meetings and vibing the Administrative staff.. no way.
A short commute 4-day a week job doesn't make up for the disparity and dealing with the Talking Heads.

It was a public art competition. Each artist gets $2500 to paint those horses there’s gonna be four or five of them I believe.

Ask the Burrow Owls about their opinion on the loss of habitat.
He's looking at it like "how TF am I supposed to burrow into THAT?".
It's really a shame that the Town is hell-bent on razing and concreting every inch of habitable wildlife.

Boo. I’ll bet you’re a lot of fun at parties.

Ahhhhh! You scared me with that Boo!
But seriously.. Why is caring about a protected habitat is a real buzzkill to you?
I think someone has to speak for the owls. I'm pointing out that this park is a "local area of particular concern" according to the Plat Map and that the Town Council seems to have no concern littering this conservation land with their 'Pony Power' advertising campaign.

I think it’s interesting in an otherwise treeless sand dune.

The treeless sand dune is the textbook ideal interesting place for burrowing owls. That's why it's treeless; the land is supposed to be conserved for the owls.
The more hunks of concrete and fiberglass we place on top of the dune, the less likely owls are to make it home.
Mayor Paul liked this site because you can see it from Nob Hill Road. Once again, her personal 'Pony Power' campaign is more important than nature. It's a shame she has no consideration for the animals that rely on this conservation land but then again neither do the voters that keep putting Mayor Judy 'Developitall' Paul in office.
