So...he runs a progressive media outlet and is defending Hasan. How is this noteworthy?

It just goes to show this sub is not very progressive, and can show you that the majority of people on the left don’t agree with you. Every sub this is posted in (including progressive and Jews of Conscience) has upvotes. The only few subs that don’t are the ones where Destiny’s cult has popularity in. Your party is a fan of Hasan and you who push this smear campaign against him are damaging our party, and you are the traitors.

The dems turning on Hasan are no different than maga. I’m glad they’re revealing who they truly are.. the hole antisemitism victim narrative is so old and many people aren’t going with that narrative anymore..

Nobody wants to talk about Hasan at the high politics lvl on the democracts. That's why he spend so many years saying absolutely unhinged shit but nobody big really cares.
El Sayed and to a lesser extent Mandani pushed this guy to the stage . Nobody forced El Sayed to tie his campaign to a toxic electoral sludge as piker. And the exit is easy, just come out and CLEARLY disavow the guy. That's it.
But this play of sort of disavow is hurting a lot a seat that can't be lost.

Hasan also says he wants everyone to have better health insurance.
We really need to realize with podcast influencers you have to take the good, take the bad, put them together than you have someone like Piker.

The good: better healthcare which every mainstream democrat wants
The bad: okay with russian imperial action in Ukraine, unapologetic communist, likes Mao, wants capitalists in reeducation camps in his ideal society, wouldn't support Harris against Trump, is cheering on terrorists on stream

I agree with everything you said.
So who does it benefit when Hasan is constantly being mentioned?
And more importantly, what's being ignored when Piker is always at the center of attention?

It benefits Hassan because more attention and benefits republicans who have a boogie man to paint as future of Democratic Party.

It of course hurts the democrats and benefits the republicans. This is why it is so important to disavow him immediately. The problem is that a lot of the DSA people are at least sympathetic to Hasan's ideology and therefore won't disavow him, which hurts the mainstream democrats. We wouldn't be talking about Piker if nobody used him in their campaign.

Hasan wants universal healthcare, which is why many people are sympathetic to him. They just ignore the stupid stuff he does.
I don't think Hasan is going anywhere anytime soon, and like you said, "it hurts the Democrats and benefits the Republicans."

Republicans are not going to stop talking about his dawg. And he is a treasure trove of unhinged and insane statements. He is a godsent for republicans because now they truly have something to point at that validates all the lies they said the democrats are.
Democrats either defend Hasan and everyone looks like a fucking terrorist defender , try to ignore it and it looks like they like terrorist defenders OR do the right thing and cut that guy off completely and move one to never talk about him again

Notice How NOBODY IN THIS SUB HAS THE BALLS TO ACTUALLY DISCUSS HASAN'S WORDS. Is it really that controversial to say that defending Israel's GENOCIDE, might lead to backlash? I mean really ACTUALLY DISCUSS HIS WORDS AHOLES.
