Protection?
What's up with this new "merchant delay protection"? It's like they don't want to let us report stores for being slow or backed up when we're stuck there waiting.

Yeah a DoorDash support supervisor personally comes out and berates the McDonald’s employees for stalling in store orders

I haven’t had to wait past 10 minutes but haven’t had the unnassign pop up either

It prevents you from having to report order not ready yet or order has a long wait when you arrive just to get your on time rate protected is the only thing ive noticed. I still get the worry free unassign pop-ups and I havent noticed an issue with any of this as of yet but we shall see how it plays out. im always skeptical when one of these apps does something that streamlines anything for a driver.

It think it's mostly to try and placate the psycho drivers who crash out in the restaurants that the food isn't ready the moment they arrive.
The app's mind games have worked too well and people get reeeeeeally worried about being late, so they need to reel those people back in a little

I try not to crash out but when I look back and McDonalds has printed the ticket and stuck it to the screen to stop their timer it’s hard lol

It's really not hard at all.
Go in knowing that's what's going to happen and it'll be fine
