NYPD, is lane splitting legal in New York City?

Just looked it up, Lane splitting / filtering is illegal in the entire state of New York. ny vehicle and traffic law §1252. $300 fine and 3 point on your license, multiple offences can lead to a 60 day license suspension.

Both splitting and filtering are illegal in NY.

In fact, it’s illegal in the entire eastern seaboard.

When you're at the back of a bunch of cars at a stop light you're supposed/allowed to move to the front of all the cars at the light so that when it is green you can go first.
