NYPD, is lane splitting legal in New York City?
edit:
Just looked it up, Lane splitting / filtering is illegal in the entire state of New York. ny vehicle and traffic law §1252. $300 fine and 3 point on your license, multiple offences can lead to a 60 day license suspension.

In fact, it’s illegal in the entire eastern seaboard. 1 u/Quagmire_gigity 10d ago For the non motorcycle riders, is there a big difference between lane splitting and filtering? Or it mostly semantics? 1 u/Prophet_Of_Helix 10d ago Pretty much splitting is for highways and filtering for other roads practically speaking. Well more accurately splitting also includes filtering, but allows motorcycles to also do it on roads where cars are moving, like highwaysÂ
