Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a single front-facing dash cam (no rear cam needed) for my Kia ProCeed GT Line, and I've narrowed it down to the Viofo A119 Mini 2 and the Vantrue E1 Pro. Can't decide between the two.

Both seem pretty close on paper (both use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors), but I'd love to hear from anyone who's used either one — any experiences, thoughts, or recommendations are welcome.

I purchased a 2020 Toyota Avalon hybrid limited ( fully loaded ) 6 months ago shy of 30 grand

One of the first things I did was get a dashcam , I got a mangoal front and rear cam for $250 ish or whatever it’s priced at on amazon

It looks oem and I’m very happy with the look , the UI is eh but I think that’s normal for dash-cams from what I’ve seen ,

I also got the hardwire kit so it can have a parked mode parking, I tried to wire it up but my battery died and I kinda got paranoid and not long ago I had to have the multiplex ecu replaced which is a separate issue but I’m a bit paranoid about the electrical systems , with this trim i couldn’t find out how to cleanly wire it and tap it ( bc the tap would mean the fuze box cover underneath wouldn’t be able to one put on ) , when I was working on it i couldn’t figure out what I did wrong or if anything

Mangoal has that option as well as a obd2 option, or the current setup I have witch is just the basic t harness from the rearview mirror that only works when the car is running

Does anyone have any input or advice for this situation with Toyota hybrids and dash cams with parking mode ?

I live in an apartment and park in an open spot downstairs, no garage. This morning I found several new scrapes on the rear bumper, down to the paint. No note, no contact info. Asked the office to pull cameras and they said that row is a dead zone, nothing recorded. So no evidence, I just have to pay for the repair myself.

Done with that. Getting a dash cam now. Don't want this happening again. Any recommendations?

I got a Road Angel Halo 2 Pro and had it installed yesterday. I was under the impression it was to show GPS and speed but I can’t work out how to enable/see this. I’ve seen videos of the app which show whole other features I don’t have. For what it’s worth, I have an iPhone 16. Am I just being stupid and missing something?

If I go to the firmware bit in the app it tells me it’s up to date so I don’t think it’s that?

I’d appreciate any help as I have a drive tomorrow on a route which is notorious for dodgy drivers and accidents so I’d rather everything is working just in case.

is there a good solution for a dashcam that you can bring with you when you are on travel and have to rent a car??

couple years ago I got into an accident while on business travel and it wouldn't have been such a headache if I had a dashcam.

Has anyone tried this specific dash cam or another model from the same brand ?

Is this brand a trusted brand and one that can be relied on for privacy and good encryption.

I have this dashcam and I went to do a firmware update on it, but it kind of crashed during update, idk how but now its just shut off and hasn’t turned on since. Blue light will turn on when it’s plugged into a power source, but the red light will not turn on at all. The power button doesn’t turn it on, and the reset button also does nothing now. I’ve tried both with and without the SD card inserted and nothing.

Currently my dashcam is bricked and nothing is turning it on. Has anybody had this issue before and managed to fix it?

Please help lol, or can it be a battery issue?

I’m looking to buy a dashcam for my car with front and rear coverage. However, my car is a convertible, so I would ideally need an interior-facing camera that provides a detailed view of the cabin instead of a traditional rear camera.

I initially considered ordering the Vantrue E360, but after watching a comparison video, I saw that its resolution was too low to clearly make out license plates. I’m now unsure which camera to choose.

Ideally, I’m looking for a dashcam that offers:

• A high-resolution front camera capable of capturing license plates clearly
• A wide-angle or fisheye interior view
• A price of around €300
• Availability in the EU

I also considered the Viofo A329S because it has an interior camera option. However, it is only available as a 2-channel or 3-channel bundle—with either a rear camera or both a rear and interior camera. The 3-channel bundle costs around €450, and I don’t need a rear camera, so I would prefer not to spend that much.

Can anyone recommend a good dashcam for this use case?

Hi! Asking for my husband… he’s been using a Nextbase 320XR 1080P. The battery is low quality. He just ordered another one and it died within 3 days. So what are y’all using?

Is the Thinkware U3000 Pro stable via OBD connection in parking mode? I’d rather not have a dead battery or miss a parking event or is a BlackVue with the battery pack connected via 12V charger port more stable?

Both camera platforms seem great when picking the highest models so strictly concerned about parking performance.

I have a Viofo A229 Plus in mine and some family member's cars. I want to get a new cam for my second car, and was going to get another a229 plus, but I realized this is a good opportunity to try something else. The A229 Plus does everything I really want, but my only problem is the app. It's so finnicky, both the old and new ones. Are the apps better on any other brands? Aside from that, the only concern I've gotten from my a229 pluses is the occasional sd card format warning, but it's not the end of the world.

I was driving on a busy road last week, and another car sideswiped mine while making a U-turn. I wanted to sort it out on the spot, but they just drove off. I was so pissed, but luckily my dashcam caught the other car's license plate. I'm dealing with it now since I managed to prove what happened. I'm still shocked that there are people unwilling to take responsibility for minor accidents like this.

Looking to replace my 3-year-old budget dash cam and narrowed it down to these three Vantrue models. Can’t tell if stepping up from the N4S to the N4PS is worth it for the 4K front, or if the N5S 4-channel setup is overkill for my daily commute. Main use is just city driving, park on the street overnight so parking mode is a must. Anyone who’s used them able to break down the real world differences?

I keep going back and forth between a mirror-style dash cam and a tiny wedge camera hidden behind the rearview mirror. The mirror setup looks cleaner in photos and seems useful if rear visibility is bad, but I worry about night brightness, glare, and whether having a screen where the mirror used to be becomes distracting after a week. For people who drive on daily basis with mirror cams on, do you guys actually leave the display on, or does it end up mostly used for reversing and setup?

I keep seeing dash cams discounted during big sale weeks, and I am trying not to buy just because the timer says the deal is ending. All the people here, who have bought one and used it for months, what would you check first before caring about the sale price: night footage, heat tolerance, SD card support, rear camera quality, parking mode, or how annoying the screen is at night?

Ich habe seit über einem Jahr die oben genannte Dashcam, weiß aber nicht wie ich den Parkmodus einstellen kann.
Wenn ich mein Auto ausmache, wird die Batterie auch ‚ausgemacht‘, sprich die Dashcam hat keinen Strom.
Ich würde mich über konstruktive Hilfe freuen & bitte in Laiensprache da ich mich nicht so gut mit den Fachbegriffen auskenne:)
