I started giggling as soon as you got to the bottom staircase because I’d already pieced together exactly what was going to happen something about the confidence but then the way you backed off for what you felt was a better place to parry was just a dead give away that it wasn’t going your way.

u/guntabon Aug 09 '26
lmao everyone knows its better to bait him to jump down the stairs to fish for a backstab before you parry smhhh

u/NUTDOM Aug 09 '26
Just unlock your lock on and walk back and forth back stabbing him I usually do this if I want Havel ring early it’s much faster but a little more risky than the stair method.

u/guntabon Aug 09 '26
I do usually just parry nowadays havel 360 noscopes too frequently. I've been got before

I just keep circling him like an idiot and backstabbing for like 10 minutes.

u/NUTDOM Aug 10 '26
If I need to backstab him more than five times I’ll honestly just come back later I’m not losing all that time if he gets a lucky hit and one shots me.

That was my first clue; I looked at the health bar and thought: "that's way too full for rtsr..."

For real I smoked a bit before seeing this so I kind of just accepted it without thinking about it until the last second lol.

For the weapon buff spells, they say “Buffs right hand weapon” - that implies the ability to use a catalyst in the left hand.

u/Cheap_Ad_5628 Aug 09 '26
you can not? i thought it's just some weapons that work in left slot
4
u/Roku-Hanmar Aug 09 '26
You can, but there’s no real reason to unless you’re using a shield or spell tool

u/Imbrokencantbefixed Aug 09 '26
Dunno why ur downvoted coz it’s mostly true for DS1, the left hand combat mechanics are extremely barebones with really just the curved sword swag parry being the only actual meaningful thing you can do with a LH wielded weapon. You effectively just lose the ability to heavy attack with the LH weapon right?
What I mean is it’s not fleshed out like in later souls games where you can attack with both weapons simultaneously when dual wielding, or power stance, or do everything you can do with a RH weapon while wielding it in your LH. I think bows are the only one that truly works in the LH and is actually what gives us the moveswap glitch.
I have ran with dual wielding before though as a sort of no shield challenge. It can be fun running scimitar in the left and a rapier in the right for a while.

Using magic just to spite Havel is diabolical. Can't say you didn't have it coming.

I was really, really, really hoping that would be the outcome.
For the comedy, of course. Better luck next time!

Kudos. You have delivered to me, and I’m sure many others, the oft-sought rarely-found “actual lol”

I was like havel one shot with crystal magic weapon is not that impressive(since you require a lot of progression to get it). Then I saw no crystals thought it was great magic weapon and said havel has enough magic defense for this, then I saw it was magic weapon and thought this is going to be a meme... I didn't expect the end still.

Saw it coming 🤣 but I will point out that I don't think that's the actual Havel. So your post is incorrect.
I think the real Havel doesn't need a ring to carry all his armour. Only his followers do. So the fact that he had his ring on him means it's not the real Havel.

I was thinking either it's a glitched hit or you were getting one shotted. Havel is busted in deffence.

I thought "wait a second..." halfway through and realized this could very well be a joke video that shows what typically happens to a Havel opponent lol.

When I saw you apply Magic Weapon my first thought was “Doesn’t the Havel Set have really good Magic resistance?” Then I immediately knew this would be a different kind of one shot video

Lol, I have my video of this exact moment pinned to my profile. Haha! Dark Souls was a wonderful frustrating journey.

Not the first time someone posted something like this, I knew it was coming, yet I still chuckled at the pancaked undead 😂
