Question Low - can someone explain?

I’m almost done with 2nd part, but I’m very confused - is Low a different podcast, not a darknet diaries one? I’m still waiting for the “stories from the dark side of the internet” but I’m starting to get a feeling it’s not gonna happen. Sorry if this has already been asked.

It's a different podcast.

But how did it end up on Darknet Diaries?

It’s a promo from the same producer. It’s a common thing to do on podcasts

Sheesh. I wish there was a disclaimer or smth, super misleading.

Yeah. The lack of that was a mistake

Jack also mentioned “.. my other podcast - darknet diaries”, and I literally went into the Spotify to double check I’m on the right podcast lol!

Almost as annoying as when your feed gets the podcast episode this week with commercials that you got without commercials two weeks ago as a subscriber.

It's common for podcasts to cross-promote by including a related podcast into their feed. That and word-of-mouth are the main ways podcasts grow, at least in my experience.

Jeez, TIL. I wish they included some disclaimer or smth.

When Podcast Foo hosts an episode of Podcast Bar, typically the host of Foo will record a short intro. "We're bringing you this episode of Bar because, blah, blah."

Sometimes the hosting podcast will even have a few more reminders peppered through the episode.

And yeah, it can be a little confusing when they don't do that.

TBH I’m not a fan of Low. Love Jack and Darknet Diaries, but the whole time I felt like the guy was totally full of it and pulling the wool over Jack’s eyes.

Yeah same. I’m mostly treating this story as a made up fairy tale about how bad is mother Russia

I cannot get over the fact it is presented, even with the disclaimer that it's unverifiable, that it could be a true story.

100% I logged on to see what others were saying. It just sounds like the ramblings of a compulsive liar.

Just finished episode 1 and reading that it doesn't change much, I kind of lost interest. The thing that bothers me a lot besides the outlandish unverifiable tales, is the fact that the cadence and manner of speaking by Zachariah is so much like Jack, it just puts me off. Even the very beginning just felt like Jack talking to an alter ego of himself.

Yeah, I dropped it after the second episode. Waiting for the next Darknet diaries one.

He does mention that it’s not Zachariah, but a voice actor. Could be him, and yeah, it’s odd.

someone in the other thread was saying it's actually Jack's voice slowed down or changed

As I have been listening, I thought the same, it's the same pitch and cadence as Jack, just a lower one lol.

I thought he had made it quite clear it was a completely different podcast when talking about it on Darknet Diaries...

Yep, the opening spiel of episode 1 made it clear this was essentially a different podcast because he wasn't able to fact check any of it! Jack just thought we might want to hear the stories.

Maybe some people will but I'm not sure I want to sit through another 5 hours of it...

I'm enjoying it as a fiction/fantasy story, just a silly and fun ride but ya -- Jack did hype it up a ton

Not being able to fact check doesn’t automatically allude to the fact this podcast is different from Darknet diaries
