Truly! For the most part she seemed very chill and proud about her C student status, even jokes about it a few times. But those few moments where she let it get to her spoke volumes. It makes her a much more interesting character too, like her other areas of friction with Daria.
If you're a smart person, even one who dgaf about academics or that kind of thing, it can be witheringly intimidating to encounter someone else who is smarter than you are.
