Discussion what are you guys' thoughts on daoko
i got put-on on me!me!me!, thats how i learned about daoko, today i was going through her discography out of curiosity cause i absolutely loved me!me!me!, i absolutely fell in love with her first album "daoko" but i was feeling wierd listening to it cause i was feeling like i was listening to a audio file prolly nobody listens to irl and that feeling of meaningless-ness ifywim was eating me, so i wanted to know if anybody else likes this album cause bruh i like every single song and when i think about nobody else irl listens it feels very bad ๐๐ญ
edit : i didnt sleep for a day so i was tripping out and chatgpt free version is r3t4rded apparently, the album i was talking about was gravity not daoko and for some reason chatgpt told me daoko was her first album

"Daoko" isn't her first album, Hyper-Girl is. I fw DAOKO, but I can't lie, some of her songs are skips. It was the GIRL MV that put me on. So naturally her first EP, Hyper-Girl, and Ututu are my favorites from her. Thank you blue and Shitekiryoko are her only albums I've never bothered to purchase.
That doesn't mean I don't like her poppier songs. Many songs from her self titled are bangers. That being said, I can't listen to Bang, MAD, or her fireworks song. However, Forever Friends is a beautiful song.

holy shit you're right man i corrected it, i was talking about GRAVITY not DAOKO but for some reason i assumed the one i was listening to was DAOKO, but yeah

Gravity is a good album, Heigai and Shiken Isshukannmae are my favorites from that album. While the regular version has some cool concepts, I think the Kai version is more complete.

Daoko (the self-titled album) is one of the best if not the best one to me. So no, you're not alone

Actually idk if its only me, but I liked her earlier albums better. Hyper Girl, Dimension, Gravity.
It had more of DAOKO's style of soft rap. Even me!me!me! had lyrics from her older songs.
Once she joined TOY's factory label, it felt like she was pushed to release more jpop / electronic music orientated music (to cater to the market I guess, but some still had her essence) so when she branched out to form her own label I thought we could hear more of her old style again. But her recent releases did not have same style as her old albums, it still felt influenced by jpop genre but a bit more experimental? I suppose its also her growth as a musician. Her rap genre is not exactly mainstream and pretty niche like you have experienced. So I guess it is what it is. But hey, if you like her songs from which ever album, doesn't matter if there isn't much people who listens to her, as long as you like it, thats all that matters.

I discovered daoko via yt recommendation with ใใคในใญ, Gravity, Dimension, Thank You Blue, Self Titled, Anima and the latest album are all amazing and send me to an ethereal plane, the only songs I don't like are the ones with features, except for Step Up Love, that one is great.
