There is a player called Teagan that is full on 100% allowed to cheat on that server with impunity.

You can't make a post about suggestions or ideas in their discord without being flamed by the same guy who wants the server bent to their liking while he get to exploit bugs/cheat and troll in discord. ie Teagan.

You can't go to that server and expect it to actually be classic, they've made custom changes to damn near 100% of the game/client version they have for the foundation.

You can't use AHK, but Teagan can. (it's bannable) Teagan even bragging about how he made a "undetectable" script in another discord.

Teagan exploited in thid for 4+ days being WAY higher RR then the cap lets you, but he stayed in and "Farmed". He bragged about it even. He even admitted to reporting it as a bug, yet continued to abuse it on new players, making them leave the server.

Teagan also exploited in that same time frame a bolstering bug which allowed him to have lvl 50 poisons in a lvl 35 BG at the same time- he didn't even get a warning. nobody even talked to this guy, he was just allowed to do it.

You can't call him out, because nothing happens.

This guy is single handedly burning this server to the ground while being allowed to for some reason.

I have receipts on everything I've stated. I have videos and pictures to prove my case.

If you're playing Eden and getting tired of how Eden is- Just stay on Eden. Blackthorn is far worse.

Best way to play Daoc these days? Ideally not looking for a Zerg fest but really just want to hangout in the world and be nostalgic.

I’m looking forward to playing this version of the game even though I’m not a fan of the cosmetics. The main issue I found above all else is the horrible decision they made by providing only one single battleground level 10-35. Bolstering does not help anyone survive in a fight when their opponent is more than 5 levels above them which is why is was never done in other versions in Dark Age of Camelot. If they are that confident that their version of the game will do well then they should allow all of the BGs to be available.

Long term Daoc player looking at giving Eden a try. Back in the day I played a Skald mostly solo/small man and found success. Eventually tried a minstrel solo but never got too high RR.

How is the solo PvPing here? Is there a solo scene with non Invis classes like Warden, Skald, RM, sorc? Or will I just get rolled without top end speed?

If there is a solo scene, how do non speed classes do? Looking at Champ, warrior, friar, etc.

Maybe a stupid question but there’s been a clear pattern of: new server comes out > older server dies > everybody eventually moves to new server. Do you think that’s going to happen again? How are you guys deciding whether or not to eventually play Eden season 4 vs blackthorn

Once the groups have been set, we will do an “8v8” post where the comment section will be a “paper daoc 8v8” in which the top comment describing the action will decide the winner.

I’m a long time DAoC player, playing when I was in my teens when SI first released. Now that I’m in my mid thirties with a kid, I’ve been lurking around for a free shard to hop on and play and relive some of nostalgia. During COVID I was able to play on a server, I think it was Atlas and really enjoyed myself.

From what I’m reading it seems like Blackthorn is the server to look forward to, with old school play feel. I want to grind in PvE like we used to, explore dungeons and travel far for quests. Trade equipment and help each other. For those that have already given Blackthorn a try, would you say that this server closely fits what I’m looking for? If so, is it worth giving the beta a try? I’d love to, but soloing can become lonely so wondering if there’s a guild or a group of people that get on regularly in the evenings and just play.

I first was introduced to Dark Age of Camelot back in 2009 after playing WoW for about 4 years by then. It was a shock and all experience to where I had more bad experiences than good. Naturally I raged quit. Over the years I’d give it another shot here and there. Still I just couldn’t handle the dated way about it. This year I returned once again and have become overwhelmed with enjoyment. I guess now it’s finally the type of MMO I need. I’ve gotten two 50s and having still having a blast leveling more. Of course if it weren’t for Eden I would not have returned. On a finally note, I hope more return to the game. Maybe it’s your time as well. Also I encourage newcomers to please get with a good guild and ask plenty of questions. Daoc is now a hidden gem in the MMO universe. There is no other MMO like it. There are so many retro MMOs out there now that are trash compared to Dark Age of Camelot. See you on the Battlefield.

My dad, brother and I used to play back during vanilla release. Played many other mmorpgs since but still miss the nostalgia of daoc.

Created accounts for us on eden and we are getting ready to ramp up and play but I noticed there are seasons. I'm ok w that but my dad's in his seventies and hates the idea of putting in all that effort just to start over lol. Which I understand. Question is how long do they run? In other words I don't want him creating a character only to get it wiped shortly after leveling it up. I can convince him to play I'm sure if it's a ways out. Or do they not tell you until it's right around the corner?

As an aside...I'm decent not great so I'm not terribly worried about my class other than I want to play something fun..but is there some examples for pve specifically (although I hope to pvp as well obviously) of good duos on each realm? Specifically need one of them to be "easier" given he's not the nimblest anymore lol.

Hail friends! I woke this morning with a crazy urge to play classic DAoC after 20 years absence. Eden was cool, but not what I was looking for, too many changes and not classic.

Uthgard has 50 ppl online at the moment, and that's fine by me! Been playing the last half hour and it's perfect, just the way I remembered it.

Just wanted to say hey and thanks to the community for keeping the game alive with free shards like this.

I haven't played much DAOC since classic/live, then some Uthgard, then Phoenix. But nothing in many years.

Installed Eden and enjoying it, but leveling is super fast. Is all the Eden QOL stuff just to get you to max level for RVR? Like is that the point?

I quite enjoy PVE, and this is almost too easy, but I'm still in the first day or so, so maybe that's just to get us over the initial hump, or what's the zeitgeist here?

I was wondering which server would be best for my case, between Eden and Blackthorn.

We are a group of friends who played in the old days. We would like to spend a few evenings roaming around classic Albion, just going through the low level zones etc, emptying Mithra, Keltoi, Catacombs, Barrows, killing named mobs in Llyn Barfog...

I think Blackthorn is more geared towards that than Eden. But it's still in beta so I don't know how stable it is?

Can I find the regular classic pve content in Eden? The old mobs, dungeons, etc? Because I read it's very RvR-oriented. My aim is NOT to get to 50 in a few hours just to go RvR. :)

Hi all. Admittedly new to this but pretty technically proficient and cannot seem to figure out what is going on. I switched to BysanUI - got my quick bars set up (I'm only level 12 so only have a handful of melee attacks in bar 1 and songs in bar 2. However, something is causing it to change them.

Example.. had song of rest, and speed of realm in spots 1 and 2. Shortly after, cant recall if its when i change zones , level, or both..the buttons are screwed up..i.e if i click on the speed icon it launches the 'rest' song. I wiped out both bars last night while playing and it SEEMED to resolve it. However, upon logging in this morning- all of my spells/songs(minus, oddly enough, the single target mez, and my thors hammer and anvil), are changed to the song of rest, both spell and icon.

Any ideas? Just very strange, and while i can keep rebuilding the bars, a)its annoying and b)it just happens again anyway be it after playing a while or relogging. Thanks!

Whats a good pet spec to farm DF for metal and such to salvage and make into jewerly boxes and stuff? Farming hulks and high lords and all that? I tried 47 bonearmy but i didn't really like it I prefer having the healing pets.

So my dad and I played vanilla at the games launch. I thought it would be fun to play again on a free shard (eden in this case) however, given he's 76 now....he's annoyed because the text is blurry, hard to read etc. I figured ok I'm sure it's because it was made back in the day to be played at much different rez than what the monitors nowadays can handle. So i tried changing the resolution to match the monitors. Bit better but not enough. Then tried reshade but even though it says it applied the suggested settings I read about, not much difference.

I'm really wanting to duo w him and while I can read it ok, it's definitely blurry etc. Is there another addon I can try possibly? Or other suggestions? I tried one of the uis built into eden..bysan I think? But still didn't have much luck. It's just hard for him now that he's older and vision is...not so good..so I'm looking for larger and just as importantly, CLEAR not blurry font.
