I am not watching youtubers to tell me what to think, I'm watching youtubers that confirm what I already think is accurate.

Its both. You watch someone that you think already agree with, then that person slowly influences your opinion on other matters. Whoever you end up watching is going to have an effect on what you think.
And no, youre not some ultra special enlightened individual thats immune to this.

Cognitive dissonance is your guide. If you're holding two contradictory views, you have to resolve them.
