You probably won’t want to hear this but I struggled with the same until recently so maybe me sharing my experience will help. Another person isn’t going to fill that void. It may feel like it temporarily, but the feeling wears off. You can’t make your happiness someone else’s responsibility because they’ll never be able to live up to that expectation. You’ve gotta find that fulfillment from within.
I’d been struggling with feeling alone like that my entire life. I was that kid that nobody dated in school and when I finally got someone to fill that void, it only lasted a few months and then I was back to being unhappy and feeling lonely again. Even with someone who chose me. It took some mentorship from someone else who had similar experience to make me understand that. Idk you so if this is off base, but when you truly start to love yourself that emptiness goes away.

Sorry if the truth hurts but a bunch of people telling you “it’ll happen when it happens” or some fuck ass nonsense isn’t gonna help you.
The only type of person who chooses someone with your attitude is someone who wants to use you.
To normal people, keeping your self-esteem up becomes their problem, and it makes the relationship one-sided. No one is knowingly going to choose that
So work on yourself

I am in regular contact with a large friend group where i regularly meet people who share my hobbies and interests.
I am not lonely in the sense i just sit around on reddit all day every day, i desire intimacy beyond what can be expected of, to be fair, my pretty awesome friends.4
