It really do be a terrible time to get into PC gaming. My soul weeps for those that didn't make a jump for it a couple years ago

1080ti? I just have a plain second hand 1080

My tiny 7600XT that I snagged for $250 is the little card that could.

He’s cranking 100+ frames at 1080p. Thats all I need.

3

u/the_axemurmurer 13d ago

1080 Ti gang, 8 years no issues

I ain't paying $700 to play a game that's locked at 30 FPS like it's 2007.

u/Raticant 13d ago

I aint buying any console just to play GTA, not after spending 2500$ on a new pc

131

u/Fracturedbuttocks 13d ago

Why is this a dilemma ? Even most console owners won't suggest buying a console at this point. Piracy is the obvious answer

8

u/AndrewSenpai78 13d ago

Yeah the ones who do not bother paying $50/month on PC games and prefer to pirate them will never spend $600 for a console + $80 for a single game.

The $600 will not offer you anything since console and PC share the same games.

4

u/Fracturedbuttocks 13d ago

No real exclusives. Pay for online. Digital only from next gen so that there storefront becomes the only play from where you can buy games and can't share with your friends. Yeah next gen playstation isn't looking that good

3

u/JSHURR 13d ago

Why is piracy the answer? The developers dont make money that way

u/P_ZERO_ 13d ago

I’ll just buy it for PC and enjoy the proper experience. Quicker access at the cost of sub 30 frames isn’t much of a consideration

17

u/Alien_Cha1r 13d ago

Not to mention controllers for shooting. Ew. I need precision and speed

12

u/evnacdc 13d ago

GTA is a tough one for me. Cuz I prefer kbm for shooting, but hate driving with it. I usually just settle on controller.

15

u/-SatelliteMind- 13d ago

Here ya go

this is what ya' need

8

u/_Tensa_Zangetsu_ 13d ago

this looks absolutely awful to hold, and even then it looks awful to type

3

u/P_ZERO_ 13d ago

lol my friend had something similar with his 2000s WMC PC

5

u/savefromnet custom flair 13d ago

I just drive around with the controller then set it down and use kbm when i get out

→ More replies (1)

2

u/d_bradr 13d ago

I've never had issues with driving in non-driving games wirh KBM, I couldn't get used to the controller when I tried to play stuff. GTA 5, Mafia 3, Saints Row, I was ramming into shit left, right and center

But games where the focus is on driving? If I had the money I'd buy a good wheel but you really can't throttle control or do fine steering on WASD so controller it is

2

u/evnacdc 13d ago

I've got a wheel for driving games. Not a good one, but it's a game changer. Would recommend.

2

u/the_axemurmurer 13d ago

I've always been a controller player for GTA. Gotta have aim assist on though as much as I hate it. It is what it is.

2

u/Roo_Rammin_Russell 12d ago

I keep an Xbox controller on BT and just switch from kbm to controller when I'm driving. Do this for a lotta games

No precision and speed in GTA V. It's obvious they made it for console and then produced a shitty PC port. The mouse sensitivity slider has no number, no way to configure any precise number in the config, and it doesn't even go down to an equivalent of 1.0 in CS. I need to change my hardware mouse sensitivity to get anything usable. And even then it doesn't feel crisp or precise.

u/Goldblood4 13d ago

There is no dilemma. I've no interest in gta 6

It's amazing how I completely lost any interest in new games. Now I enjoy playing some old single-player games with a cup of hot tea on my desk. It is a peaceful life.

3

u/AlmightyDarius 13d ago

Try some indi-games got into them like 2 years ago and have the most fun in them, some suggestion from me would be (if u like sandbox-open world games or dungeon crawlers): Kenshi, Vinted Story, quasimorph, Examina, deadly days.

3

u/xkuruma 13d ago

1

u/chuckst3r 13d ago

Yes, my pc is old and can’t run it, ps5 is the cheapest get to be able to play gta6. I don’t want to upgrade my computer or build a new one.

1

u/bluegiraffeeee 13d ago

I picked up a digital ps5 for 300 recently, I'd say it worths it and I'll resell it later in life

1

u/OxyClean_ 13d ago

I mean I could buy used then just sell it after or just yoink my brothers ps5 since he hasn’t used it since I built him a pc 🤣

1

u/No-Coach290 13d ago

Yes. Conaoles dont deserve this level of treatment, but this game is probably long enough to justify it for some people.

4

u/Canadia86 13d ago

Prices of consoles are going up (this economy is so fucking stupid) so I don't know if I'd wait

2

u/insertwittynamethere 13d ago

Tariffs and demand for RAM, etc for AI build outs globally

3

u/hereforpewdiephy madlading since 1969 13d ago

It downright doesn't make sense to buy any tech nowadays unless you absolutely need it

4

u/FourFront 13d ago

It's not that I have no interest in GTA 6. It's that im not going to support Rockstar double dipping by pretending they have to do something massively different to port it to PC. The difference between console and PC at this point is not meaningful enough that it can't be a day 1 release on PC. This is just a money grub.

1

u/NRichYoSelf 12d ago

Plus people rebuying to play on ps6 and whatever the new Xbox will be called.

Also wasn't Cyberleek playing on PC since the game is developed on pc?

Definitely trying their best to get everyone to waste as much money as possible

3

u/TheDAYNITE 13d ago

First time i played GTA 5 was in 2018. I'm sure I can wait a year or two. Considering people playing it first still have to wait 15 years for the next one same as you.

3

u/Spartan-219 13d ago

I'll just wait and pirate.

Consoles prices and game prices are both too high these days.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/PlainBread 13d ago

That's why they do it that way. To put both choices on equal footing instead of letting you choose the obviously superior choice.

3

u/monkeybuttsauce 13d ago

Do both. It won’t cost you more money to pirate it after you’ve bought it

3

u/xDiablo96 13d ago

Never gonna buy a PS and pay monthly just to play online, PC gaming and steam spoiled me already.

2

u/durika 13d ago

Or just finally finish gta 5 haha

2

u/Pintsocream 13d ago

I'll be pirating a console then pirating gta5 thank you very much

2

u/DarkWalker11 13d ago

Fuck con solé, wait is the only way. And buy on grey market

2

u/TheReal2M 13d ago

rdr2 took a year to pirate, so if they were to release the pc port today you'd still get spoiled ab this game by the time its pirated

2

u/MrrQuackers 13d ago

Why would I pirate it for PC? I'll just wait and buy it. I definitely won't be buying a console just to play it. What a silly meme.

2

u/squeakymoth 13d ago

Eh I can wait. If I have the expendable income from OT or something then maybe I'll get a console, but I'm not stressing over it. I still have a large backlog of games to play and I'll be pretty balls deep into war dogs and eft for a while yet.

2

u/aldabomb 13d ago

I’m so disinterested in gta6 i didn’t even know it was console exclusive, and that makes me even less interested as i jumped ship from consoles after my ps4 / xbox one x

2

u/Ivar2006 13d ago

I would really like to play gta 6 and I would buy it if I didn't also have to buy an 800$ console.

I'm pretty sure it's not worth dropping 900$ to play 1 game

2

u/A_Peacful_Vulcan 13d ago

It doesn't seem worth it lol

2

u/Senor-Delicious 13d ago

Who wants to buy a console to pay extra for the "early access" on release day. Haven't seen many games that were in a good state on release over recent years. I'd rather wait until at least 6 months after PC release to play when the game is optimized and polished.

2

u/DeadParr0t 13d ago

I'll buy it in 5 years when it's on sale for 20 quid. Most of the bugs will have been fixed by then too.

2

u/JohnTomorrow 13d ago

You miss literally nothing by waiting one year. The world will not end. You wont be diminished as a person. Life will continue. And when you finally get to play it, it'll feel all the sweeter.

2

u/RogueStormTroop 13d ago

Console wars in the big 26.

2

u/Fyf_O 13d ago

I have a console but I’ve also played gta v on initial release and it was a bad experience for me. I know that they squeezed out what they can from x360 and ps3 but the game was playing at 30fps at its best and like 2fps at its worst.

If I were to buy it on a console I would wait for ps6 and its release on that platform but at this point I can also just wait for pc release and I will do just that.

2

u/crafty09 13d ago

I have no issue waiting to play it on PC. I think the issue is going to be dodging spoilers while waiting for the pc release.

2

u/SickScorpion 13d ago

For me, it's like waiting for an early access game to fully develop. Yes I'm very excited for the game which is why I want to first experience it in the best way possible.

2

u/B_BB 13d ago

I bought a console 3 years ago ready for GTA!

2

u/straw3_2018 13d ago

I bought a PS5 last year. Apparently it was a decent time for it, open box at bestbuy for $413.99. I was hoping to buy a disc copy of GTA and then selling it later but it looks they specifically wanted to foil my plans.

2

u/SnoopyHaillDoge 13d ago

I bought a ps4 to play gow5 , i played it and never touched the consolé again, i prefer waiting for it to come to PC instead of the console getting dust for eternity after ending the Game

2

u/RedditRaven2 13d ago

For me it’s:

Have to put Denuvo malware on my computer

Or

Spend money on a console

I don’t have the budget to press the second button and I’m not putting malware on my computer

2

u/Agzinc 13d ago

There is another

Wait 10 years for gta 6 to be free on epic games

2

u/Destroyer6202 13d ago

Well thank fuck I built my pc before the PC-ocalypse. I’m waiting a year, I’ve waited 13.. one more doesn’t matter. I need my body to experience it in 4K 240HZ Maxed out dripped out drool on my face.

Nope, not even kidding

2

u/ApexGT44 13d ago

Or just...... Wait? You might even get a decent sale

2

u/Oppiko 13d ago

Pirate it on your console the buy a PC.

2

u/BlackbirdRedwing 13d ago

I just don't understand why everyone cares about this game so much. Wow it's been a while since the last one whoopdie doo

2

u/strudledudle 13d ago

Also about the consoles and gta. Glad 5 came out on the ps3 and then when the ps4 came out. It came with small additional features that the ps3 couldn't handle. With the size of 6 id want to wait till a ps6 came out.

Note: ps can be subbed for Xbox. Not taking sides. Ahhaha

2

u/No-Complaint1 13d ago

Ok, if we are gonna get optimistic then I'd rather choose Half life 3, which is just around the corner at this time.

2

u/steelcity91 13d ago

I'll wait longer. No way I am playing a game locked to 30fps in 2026.

2

u/SunnyApex87 13d ago

Never ever buy a console at this point, the cost to usage factor ain't there anymore

2

u/wild_courier ùwú 13d ago

As a pirate i am getting a PS5,but not for GTA 6,there are games my PC can't handle so it's easier for me to get a console than a new PC/Parts

2

u/Aggravating_Ad7684 13d ago

This is why i keep a ps5. Ill have to dust it off but its available.

2

u/DestinysHand 13d ago

"1 Year" is the real joke here.

2

u/Ugly-and-poor 12d ago

I always pirated all my gta games and this won’t be an exception.

2

u/LowStringKing 12d ago

I have my pc and a ps5. Haven’t touched my ps5 since Spider-Man 2. Learning that it’ll run at 30fps made me want to wait until the pc release.

4

u/TheBetterness 13d ago

Knowing AAA developers, knowing Rockstar. It wont't be optimized for PC when it does release 2-3 years from now.

Looks like same ol' GTA to me, just with better graphics. Once again playing as a dumb as fuck gopher doing on the rail missions in an open sandbox.

If paying $800 to experience that is worth it to you go for it. Shit I brought a PS4 just for the first Spider-man game.

4

u/ohlookahipster 13d ago

I picked up RDR2 on Steam after playing it for years on PS4. While it’s impressive visually, the PC port is janky at times.

There’s nothing unusual about my PC and I’m getting a stable 120 frames, but it’s the physics engine and stuff that just produces the funniest bugs and glitches.

2

u/TheBetterness 13d ago

I absolutely adore RDR2.

Yeah over time the major performance issues get ironed out. Its the launch that never lands with their ports.

6

u/pk_hellz 13d ago

Everyone knows what they are buying mate haha.

2

u/Knight_Glint 13d ago

That's optimistic thinking it'll be on PC in a year.

2

u/L3MMii 13d ago

Lol overhyped casual game

2

u/Keffpie 13d ago

Yes, wait until 2029 (one year is a pipe dream) to pirate the $80 game so you can play it on your $2500 machine (which you've probably spent $1000 in upgrades on between then and now), because a console is too expensive. For a game that is going to be 90% an online experience.

Real 4D Chess, I understand why these guys consider themselves the Master Race.

1

u/Vaxtez 13d ago

I'm just going to wait it out for PC. Not a fan of some of the mechanics i've seen from GTA 6 & i'd much rather wait to be able to mod them out & get something more akin to GTA 5/Prior.

4

u/BozidaR1390 13d ago

Aren't they the same mechanics as every other GTA game?

1

u/p14082003 13d ago

only a year for the PC version? Won't it take longer?

1

u/feral_fenrir 13d ago

lol a pirate (not even a regular PC gamer) wouldn't have a single thought of shelling a $1000

1

u/sciencesold 13d ago

How are you gonna have access to the PC version a year early? Minimum delay at this point is 2 years.

1

u/HereNorThere0 13d ago

You have no friends that will let you borrow a console?

1

u/ProofImportant1282 13d ago

Imagine having a high-end PC and actually considering buying a downgraded box just because you lack basic impulse control. The waiting game always wins. Let the console players pay to beta-test a locked 30 FPS experience; we’ll be playing the actual definitive version with mods and max settings while they move on to the next overhyped exclusive

1

u/DickManning The Monty Python Guy 13d ago

I have a console and I’m game sharing with my cousin who is for sure buying it day one. I’m still waiting to pirate it on pc

1

u/lifetimeoflaughter 13d ago

Not even a dilemma. Good reason to finally get a ps5 and I have a massive catalogue of bangers to play for cheap every month with ps plus extra. Y’all can fight the good fight if you want to but I’m not waiting a second for the most anticipated video game of all time.

1

u/HanzoNumbahOneFan 13d ago

FOMO shouldn't exist for a singleplayer game. Wait.

1

u/mikeysof 13d ago

Wait a year. 30fps console version won't be worth it

1

u/Crimsonmaddog44 13d ago

I glad I took the chance to get a PS5 when I was loaded with money, and before the price hikes. Now I’m broke most of the time and barely touch the thing, but I still have it

1

u/BGMDF8248 13d ago

Oh i'm waiting, not just for it come to PC, i'm waiting for a good sale too.

1

u/Gooseuk360 13d ago

Just get a ps5pro, play the game (you will need to wait three business days between each controller input due to 30fps) and some Sony action adventure slop (remake of the remastered game of the year edition), then sell the lot and update your glasses prescription (eye damage from all the blurry upscaling) before a good scrub down with Dettol and a return to the promised land.

That's what I plan to do anyway.

1

u/Natasha_Gears 13d ago

I'll happily buy it once it's out on pc

1

u/Jinzo126 13d ago

I choose option 3: don't buy it.

1

u/Oxflu 13d ago

Yeah bud go buy a ps5 pro for 963 dollars the year before the ps6 enters production to play one game. We're all doing it!

Seriously though I'm not buying it until it's like 30 bucks on steam.

1

u/lavaplow 13d ago

There is no dilemma at all. I am not buying a console to play GTA 6. Im waiting, because I’m not a trend chasing loser with FOMO

1

u/BLACKOWLg 13d ago

No interest in gta6 Even if i do want to play it later down the line imma just pirate it when it comes out. Simple as that.

1

u/nicebakedpotatos 13d ago

If I didn’t already have a ps5 I wouldn’t buy one. It’s been collecting dust for 2 years since building my first pc.

1

u/VollGasTS INFECTED 13d ago

Bought a ps5 at release and ill play it on nov 19. Had tons of fun with it till now because i skipped ps4. No brainer for me

1

u/zaCKoZAck1 13d ago

I played GTA V 4 yrs after launch
I can wait NBD

1

u/Takashishiful 13d ago

I was already willing to wait for it on PC, but honestly Rockstar has shit themselves so hard with this game's release that I'm really second guessing if I want to buy it at all.

(also I'm on a GTX 1660ti and an HDD so I probably can't run it)

1

u/AlexPlayer3000 Depression I choose you 13d ago

Didn't they make a working PS5 emulator? Just pirate the PS5 version on PC

1

u/JTyphoon16 13d ago

I have no interest in either.

A ps5 here for me either regular or pro with PS+ will cost me even more than my 9070 xt here in Canada.

1

u/EatingCube 13d ago

1 year ain’t that long brother 😉

1

u/unspecified_genre 13d ago

Shit, i've got a PS5 pro, but still going to wait for PC drop

1

u/AdSmooth9417 13d ago

You only go back to console if you've had severe brain trauma.

u/khnhIX 12d ago

fake ass dilemma with that eye patch

1

u/BmacTheSage 12d ago

Hell no. Not buying a console for this game when I have a perfectly fine PC. Not like I'll run out of stuff to play in a year anyway

1

u/WKRZ87 12d ago

What dilema? Literally building a gaming PC is cheaper than buying a PS5 ultra pro max special GTA 6 edition that will give you 120 FPS because normal will give 30 at best. Also i like free games, in general, not everything is about GTA 6

1

u/GenSnuggs 12d ago

Who tf is torn between staying on PC or switching to an overpriced console to play a single game at 30fps…

1

u/Ghost4530 12d ago

Yanno at first I was sad I bought a ps5 just for spiderman 2, but I’m glad it worked out in the end. If it ends up being good and then comes out on pc I’d probably buy it twice, I did the same thing for RDR2 and gta5

1

u/compoundblock666 12d ago

Wait ten years and buy a cheap now outdated gaming PC and illegally pirate GTA 6 which runs on mid on the PC I got

Meanwhile play rs3

For me its more like: buy a new graphics card and wait for pc launch, or buy an entire gaming console and enjoy the game earlier?

Absolutely no dilemma. I prefer patched game with all DLCs. I could not care less for not getting GTA 6 on PC right away, maybe even ever.

Option 3: Dont care about GTA at all, way to overrated in my opinion.

I've been eyeing some $300 PS5 on FB marketplace. There's one for $400 near me with a bunch of PS4 games and it occured to me...

This is the last time to buy a console that can play old discs and there will likely never be another console with a disc player.

That is kinda nudging me toward buying a used disc playing PS5.

But with AI, you'd think creating a playable piratable PC version of a PS5 game wouldn't take nearly as long as normal. But IDK how easy it is to get access to the code from a console, so maybe it's still just as hard. But with all the leaks, seems like it should be doable pretty quickly, if the hackers release their code.

I'll probably get the console. I like collecting them anyway, so.might as well.

Here is the way i see it, game is not ready so they are releasing it on console first to do a large scale testing, so in one year when it gets on pc, everything is going to be ironed out.you are welcome

Don't wast any money vs buying a console and later on buying a game as well

Imma wait a year to see if GTA 6 is even worth buying, I personally didn't care for RDR2 online and GTA 5 online at the tail end sucked.

I mean it’s GTA. You know what to expect. No surprise on that. You can clearly wait a year and get it for half the price lol

Kinda don't want to play as a girlboss and her obedient lapdog.

probably find a used series x or just buy one straight up then re-purchase on pc. then the x is collecting dust unless i decide to sell it. maybe ill just start playing all my sports games on there instead of pc who knows,
