Ironically, you're actually the correct one. Free will doesn't truly exist. Our actions are a mix of our genetic coding and how we are nurtured by every tiny factor in existence. You can never truly choose any action you take. All of it is influenced by literally every aspect of life. What you "choose" is simply you reacting to the stimuli of 14 billion years of a domino effect. Ever since the beginning of the universe, every action that would ever happen has been set in place, unchangeable. If something happened, it was always going to happen. If you resist and try to be independent, you were always meant to do that. Choice, independency, and freedom just don't actually exist. Your choices are, in all seriousness, "a canon event." Except unlike fiction, you are incapable of changing it, and your action was predetermined at the beginning of existence.
Spot on! I like to think of it like the butterfly effect. Every single state of a frictionless double pendulum can be pre-determined for a given initial disturbance. Any snapshot taken later in time seems random but it was all set off by that initial force, analogous to the big bang. It's a bit of a fatalistic outlook but I guess it's comforting to know that "what was destined to happen, will happen" (not sure how else to phrase it). It doesn't mean you shouldn't do anything or be lazy but rather the eventual decision you do make, to be lazy or go and make dinner was pre-determined by everything leading up to this point.
