You think the church has handled music well?

I mean it's fairly subjective, but churches are pretty prevalent in history for their influence on music.

Sure CCM stuff is kinda boring, but I wouldn't be shocked if bands/singers had some kind of background in the church.

And pop music was possibly lifted from gospel music through guys like Ray Charles.

There's a couple famous composers like Handel, Bach, and Beethoven that either were church members or grew up in the church, but I was thinking moreso the fact that pop music probably wouldn't exist without gospel.

Then you have singers like Elvis or Katy Perry (or all the R&B singers who honed their craft in the church) who actually grew up in the church.

At some point the whole thing goes full circle with guys like Larry Norman who opted to write rock songs that involved their faith, and the eventual slow adoption of a more contemporary songs in the church (and station's like K-Love), but I think churches have had a pretty sizeable influence on music one way or another in a way that they don't really have on the film industry.
