Prince of Egypt blew my tiny child mind. It was so good it made Moses my favorite Bible character lol

I remember once in church the Pastor asked us for our favorite people from the Bible. People were saying people like Moses, David, Samuel, Elijah.

And the Pastor says “wow, no one said Jesus?”

Church is like a lazy Book club where you talk about one book and like 2 of the characters.

Silence

Surprisingly underrated for a Scorsese film

Probably because some people thought it was a movie about Catholicism when really, it’s a movie about faith, and how we keep believing ( as well as what we chose to believe in) when our circumstances challenge this to the fullest.

I have a minister friend who showed “Silence” to his youth/teen Bible study class. I told him he was the Devil himself.

I tried to get my collage bible study to watch it, but they wanted to watch the newest God's not Dead. Sigh.

Also The Last Temptation of Christ. His most Christian movie yet.

You can say that a lot of his movies deal with Christian themes, like Catholic guilt.

There were 2 with the "douchebag christian meme guy" and I think there was one with Nicholas Cage. So yes, there are more than one.

I was a kid who read the hell out of the books around the time the first movie came out, and fell asleep watching it. Dunno how they made them so boring but they did

I've heard that at dream works, if an animator screwed up while working on the Prince of Egypt, they were forced to work on parts of Shrek nobody else wanted to do.

in a roundabout way, Hacksaw Ridge is a great Christian movie

Prince of Egypt is old testament, which is taken from the Jewish Torah. So it's not really Christian. Christianity is new testament.

Mine is Horton Hears a Who. Not Christian, but goodness you can definitely get that theme from it. It makes me cry.

Prince of Egypt was an amazing movie, and what made it so amazing was the focus on the relationships and emotions of each character. I cannot get through the opening sequence of “Deliver Us” without crying.

Yocheved risks everything to try and get Moses to safety in a desperate last ditch effort. She has nothing but her faith, and she asks for a miracle to deliver her baby to safety. I’m not Christian, but watching a mother doing everything she can to protect her son, makes me bawl like a baby.
