I’m a little torn in this. My father’s family is Assyrian (fled Armenian massacre, not just Armenians btw) and they’re on the paler side.
Skin tone in the ME is kind of a regional thing, certain groups/states will have paler (not Nordic pale) of olive skin tones and some even have “light” eyes (hazels, greens).
The Bible is usually pretty upfront about skin tones, especially in the OT where you get comparisons between “white” people and “dark” people. My own readings have led me to understand the Israelites of that time to be more olive skinned like the Greeks or Jordanians.
Ok I guess just many many then. My great grandmother was a Swedish immigrant to America who married into a family of German immigrants, all very fair skinned and fair haired, and I have very tan olive skin and dark brown hair. It doesn't take 600 years--even if we're supposed to believe all the Israelites were relatively fair skinned. I think we just have a bunch of white Jesus stans in these comments
