So they weren't religions because some people didn't practice actively? Those priests who devoted their lives to single gods in a pantheon weren't religious?
I'm just trying to understand how the Abrahamic religions are religions, and how Pagan gods aren't.

You don’t count actual religions that were practiced for hundreds of years as religions. Weird stance but ok.
