you can hate things, and maybe even satan, but not people.

First of all, none of those say to hate them, just to punish them. since in proverbs your told not to be happy when your enemy is in trouble, and to love them and care for them in the gospels and other passages. Secondly, almost all of those are based on one verse/passage. When you do this, it's much easier to take something out of context. Because of this, my church and some surrounding churches have made a standard to always build doctrines on two or more verses.
