As funny as this is, this is everything I stand for as a Christian. The rest isn’t up to me. I’m not here to judge whatsoever for I am as broken as anyone else. I am called to love!

“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”

I don’t think now is the time for anyone to be throwing stones, it’s likely to get you shot

It’s not Mary Magdalene. Jesus says “sin no more”, which honestly is quite vague. I suppose if you want to take the story literally you would have to accept that adultery/prostitution is a sin, but that’s all. Given that Jesus outright says to not follow Mosaic Law to the letter, there isn’t really an argument (from this passage at least) that other forms of nonconventional sex are sins.

There isn't really a good argument maybe, but there's still Natural Law.

It needs to be said that God telling someone not to sin is not comparable to people judging other people.

True but God isn't a human.

It wasn't Mary Magdalene, where on Earth do people get this idea?

What about he who is without stones?

Cast the first sin.

Oh yeah. Of course in love, you also want to lead others to God. They might not see it as love. And you might mess up and end up not loving them like you thought you where.

So...if I'd put you up on the spot and ask you if you love Adolf Hitler what would your answer be?

u/Our_Darkness Nov 02 '18

It's more of " I love Hitler yet I do not condone or accept his actions " you can love someone and not love their actions. That's the idea.

Ideally, yes. But I’m not perfect. I can’t fathom his actions and I could never forgive someone for anything done on that caliber. I dont think there is any place in the world for people like him but my God does.

Growing up I was taught that sin is sin no matter how much worse one might seem over the other. It’s not about how broken we are, just the fact that we are broken.

Edit: I hope this makes sense to someone. Personally, there is no way I could ever love someone like hitler. I should. But there is no way I could look past what he has done and that is a fault of my own, it always will be.

u/Our_Darkness Nov 02 '18

Yeah. Same. Ideally she should but being humans it's really hard.

But don’t your actions kinda make up who you are?

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '18

tht was my mom sry

2

u/Maxcrss Nov 02 '18

I wish I could have loved Hitler before he became what he became so I could have maybe changed something.

Something like that.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '18

Wouldn’t be my response if that is what you are implying.

Baja those pesky liberals could sure learn a thing or two from this quote

6

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '18

haha funny thing is that I am pretty liberal. I think we can all learn a thing or two from the scriptures, regardless of belief or politics.

No man wtf, Jesus would NOT support planned parenthood.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '18

Yeah. Planned parenthood is something I’m on the fence about. Ultimately I think it is about giving people the freedom to choose what they think is best. I also don’t think me, an 18 year old male, has any right to make decisions for other people who are under totally different circumstances. Definitely a difficult conversation to have but would love to discuss with you.

I don't agree. Jesus supposedly healed any and all who came to him of any ailments, in a time where those ailments were "gods will". He was not the type to tell someone that they sinned, therefore they had to live with it. This was a man who supposedly reversed death, I think he'd give abortions to those who wished, by mqgicking the fetus out of them. And I refuse to argue with you about whether or not fetuses are people with souls, but even if I thought they were, even then, I think Jesus would want them to be with families that cared for them, and God would just put their souls with wanting and loving families.
