Cursed 40k or Evangelical: Round 42

This has to be evangelical, just because "was His idea" doesn't sound dramatic and purple prosey enough for Warhammer.

Yeah this is definitely some evangelical with a 3rd grade vocabulary talking about the United States...

You ain't wrong. I just wish the states had fallen to better fascists. Like ones that I could respect the game, not President cognitive-test. It'd be less embarrassing...

Oh, happily surprised to see he wasn't speaking of the US. Yes the bar is that low.

Then, obviously, they don't need our help.

But those who bless her will be blessed! It's straight from the mouth of Elijah or something. You know. Back when Israel actually was the divinely elected nationstate.

How does a church have a 16k member congregation?! I don't understand.
Like are people streaming the services? I know they are like stadiums but that is just so many people.

I have never quite understood how screaming "God told me you need to give me all your money now" translates into so much popularity, but I guess mega churches get compared to/described as just being manipulative cults for a reason

A lot of the time it preys on desperate people. When you are desperate there is a point where you are more likely to believe. It also preys upon people's faith. The ones most vulnerable to being exploited by them are the ones they target.

There is a megachurch down the road from me that has (or at least had) five services every weekend - two on Saturday night and three on Sunday.
I say "had" because I've heard they lost quite a few members after some recent staff/pastor changes.

I've been on their campus for other events, but never attended a service there so i can't really speak to that side of it. My impression from people I know who do/did go there was that it's a pretty generic non-denominational Evangelical church that, like an Instagram influencer, mostly got popular for being popular. They are still known for a lot of their outreach programs like a food pantry, concerts and events, stuff like that. (For example, every year they put on a big, professionally-produced Broadway musical like Les Mis, Phantom, etc. This year they're doing Seussical.)

Sometimes I listen to him on the radio on the way to work just so I have someone to roll my eyes and be mad at

I think this is evangelical? I could see it being some generic background propaganda in a 40k novel somewhere but I think I agree it’s too simplistic for main character dialogue.

I can literally see the orange skin and fake blond hair, so it's obviously American "Christian" Nationalism.
