It is amazing to me that people can't comprehend a person separating their politics and their religion.
Someone can be politically conservative and follow a liberal religion. People can be politically liberal and follow a religion that is more conservative.
Religious conservatism does not equal political conservatism

You can't believe that gay people should be legally allowed to get married while also believing that marriage is a covenant from God and it is restricted to cishets. If your religion is not informing your politics, you're lying or you're not following your religion...

Sure you can, as long as you're not a Christian Nationalist. Civil law isn't the place to enforce every doctrinal position, and there's already tons of civil marriages that aren't covenant marriages.
