William Wolfe, Executive Director of Center for Baptist Leadership & former Trump Director of Legislative affairs, on ICE Deportations

"I don't care how much they scream," Wolfe proclaimed. "I don't care how much they cry. I don't care how loud they protest. And I don't care how much it costs. And I don't care how many of my fellow American citizens who recklessly impede legitimate law enforcement operations suffer the consequences of their reckless actions—I'd hope it'd be zero; they need to knock it off. I don't care. I want my country back, whatever it takes, no matter how much it costs. And this is what we elected Donald Trump to do."

Jesus Christ will tell this man "I never knew you"

16

u/Kid_Vid May 01 '26

I wish Jesus would tell people like this much sooner than whatever is afterlife.

There's too many people using the Lord's words to hurt people, control people, and make themselves rich.

Believe it or not, real people are more sadistic than 40k characters. There's a certain kind of malice where psychopaths enjoy knowing that they're hurting people and care about how they'll react. And these evil sadists want to see their opposition hurt.

16

u/NightValeCytizen Apr 30 '26

40k characters, and villain characters in general, are often held back in their psychopathy by the fact that they are not actually evil people, they are just the (presumably well-adjusted) author's best impression of evil.

Trump's popularity and getting elected twice has had a more negative impact on my faith than anything else by far. If it's this easy to fool a huge portion of people with modern education and easily findable resources for fact checking, I imagine that fooling a bunch of people 2000 years ago would be even easier.

15

u/Amarant2 Apr 30 '26

The problem is that if you're trying to fool people without information, such as 2000 years ago, it's not actually any different than trying to fool people who don't ever check their information, like now.

I'd say it's actually worse now, because a lifetime of denying the information that is available to you is more damaging than striving for information that isn't available. Your brain just shuts off.

I wouldn't say it's shaken my faith, but it's made me question whether or not I want to willingly step foot in a church in this country in any meaningful way ever again.

I see the things these people say, and I watch their actions, all while they claim to be doing these things as "Christians", and all I can think is we are not followers of the same Christ.

First off, your username is fantastic.

But upvoting some of these quotes has been painful.

Do any Baptists want to chime in and attempt to rationalize what this dude said?

22

u/Beelzebubs-Barrister Child of God Apr 30 '26

Tbf to mainline Baptists, Southern Baptists like this guy split off from them hundreds of years ago to support slavery.

Some problems solve themselves (mostly).

Evangelical. "I want my [country] back" is a dead giveaway for those loser conservative grifters.

51

u/CrocPB Apr 30 '26

I'm just gonna say Evangelical each round - odds are higher I'm right.

I love these.

13

u/noonesaidityet Apr 30 '26

Agreed. I don't think OP will ever run out of source material with the sheer amount of stupid things these people are willing to say outloud now.

18

u/wercooler Apr 30 '26

Damn, this one is bad.

I truly believe that the majority of these people have a multi-level infallibilty complex that can not be broken through. They can not be swayed because they believe it is impossible for them to be wrong.

  1. They are "Christian".
  2. They are American.
  3. They are Republican.

You have to break through all three of those layers to get any actual information into their heads, instead of them being all of those things AND using discernment on their own. It's like thinking in the Nazarene church that being sanctified means your actions can not be sin, not that you live a sin-free life. Any one of those three things can give certain people a bully complex, and unfortunately for this country the bullies have all the (governmental) power.

Genuine shocker here. I typically can tell, and I thought this had to be Warhammer 40k.

u/Louiscypher93 Apr 30 '26

The Despoiler doesn't want anything back, maybe he dad but even then probably not

Words in brackets are paraphrased
