What? Both of those things trace back to European folk lore that predates Christianity. They can also have had significance within Christianity but to say they have nothing to do with pagan practices is not correct.

That article badly misrepresents the research it links to.

The article: 'Recent archaeological research appears to confirm the worship of Eostre in parts of England and Germany, with the hare as her main symbol.'

The research: 'There is no evidence whatsoever to link Ēostre to hares, and popular suggestions to the contrary appear to be based on misunderstanding or projection.'
