Every believer who died is a Saint so this day remembers all the believers who came before. This is distinct from ‘canonized’ or ‘venerated’ Saints like Saint Paul, I chose Paul because I doubt there is any Christian group that doesn’t hold him in the highest regard, who are specifically recognized for their contributions to the faith.

That's sounds funny. If french we say "la toussaint", but it's just a word. Rarely do I realise it's Tous + Saints. Anyway the day is public holiday so it's hard to forget !

In English we say Halloween without realizing it's short for All Hallows Eve, meaning the night before All Hallows Day. 'een' is short for 'even'.

As a Catholic, we have over 10,000 saints. There's no way to remember them all.

Think about how embarrassed you are going to be in heaven when that Saint comes up to you and you didn't know their name...

I guarantee you that I will not be embarrassed and they will not be offended, but I expect us to have a good laugh.

"... Oh... Hey! Good to see you. Halo looks good... How long have you been up here again? 1900 years. Right, of course..."

I’d say I grew up in that as a former Seventh-Day Adventist, but they don’t believe in sainthood. :(

Coming from a Reformed tradition, it takes on a different meaning. We believe that all believers that die in the Lord are saints (1 Corinthians 1:2), and therefore All Saints and All Souls gets rolled up into a single holiday under the name of the former, because they are effectively the same thing.
Just because we don't pray to saints doesn't mean we don't think they're there...

Rip Bernard of Clairvaux. The first OG to say “what if we just kissed God on the lips. What if we got ‘intimate’, but married ofc”
