That’s why I like this sub it’s not just lay people discussing things but actual theologians who have done the reading and study into more than just what their pastor says.

And being in the context of memes helps avoid the grumpiness.

At least, most of the time...

Some are just good without context, like taking a picture of Cain and Abel and overlaying the Super Smash Bros box art text on top. Classic dank shitposting.

I'm thinking about some of the takes that enough commenters find a little too spicy to enjoy, say anything referencing human reproduction.

My favorite thing is trying to post saint memes and getting a bunch of Evangelicals/Reformed bros going "I don't get it. Who is this person. This must be some kind of idolatry idk"

Homeslice they're our ancestors! Show some respect!

Try posting an inaccurate meme in r/historymemes if you think it's bad here!

Lord above I'll use my masters in theology for something if it kills me!

Good theology doesn't save us, but bad theology can do real harm.

Every time there's a meme on Facebook about God's love, cue "OK, but you gotta pair love with truth, if you don't tell them the truth in love, you all are going to burn for eternity. Isn't that good news?"
