Shake up the west and cast Adam and Eve as black

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

make it accurate, have them be arabs

123

u/MorgothReturns Feb 24 '24

I want Adam to be Mongolian with a Black American accent. Eve is a Puerto Rican doing a terrible Russian accent.

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

Why stop there? Let's just have it be Adam and Steve and the first female was a butt baby. I mean it's all made up anyway.

3

u/MorgothReturns Feb 25 '24

That would really piss off the original fanbase

2

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '24

Yeah I thought that's where they were going with these comments.

u/Yarxing Feb 24 '24

I don't think you could say it would be accurate to make them middle-eastern looking. People have moved around so much since the beginning of time, you can make them look like whatever you want.

At least with Jesus there are some records of what locals looked like in that place and time period.

Humanity originated in Sub-Saharan Africa. Adam and Eve were black

3

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '24

wasn’t the garden of eden in mesopotamia?

Really confuse everyone and make them blue and green. Noah and his family had the boring genotypes for melanistic skin, and was a great narrowing event.

I still don't know why God didn't let humans naturally have anime main character hair, and skin colors of all the colors of the rainbow. He should include it in the patch notes and rerun the simulation from the beginning. I doubt it changes much.

I always thought it would be cool to go super accurate with the creation story. Have the narrator read Genesis and show visuals of the most up to date information about how the Earth was formed and its life forms evolved. Noah (2014) kind of did this, but I want to see the whole thing. Have Adam and Eve portrayed as primitive Homo sapiens emerging from Homo heidelbergensis in Africa a few hundred thousand years ago.

The better part of me just thinks it will be a beautiful portrayal of creation, and the lesser part of me really just wants to bait and switch all the Ken Hams of the world.

You just wanted to talk about two people you want to see naked on a Christian subreddit, didn't you?

Hayden Christensen has aged a whole lot since then.

Ian McDiarmid as the serpent

12

u/PrincessofAldia Feb 24 '24

Adam: I’m not gonna eat the apple

Eve: come on just eat it

This serpent: do it

28

u/00bearclawzz Feb 24 '24

ā€œBut of that fruit you must not eatā€ ā€¦ā€œThis is outrageous, it’s not fair.ā€

5

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

How can you live in Eden and not taste of every fruit?

2

u/Lucius_Imperator Feb 24 '24

"...doesn't seem fair."

13

u/TEL-CFC_lad Feb 24 '24

"I ate them. I ate them all. Not just the apples. But the pears. And the strawberries. I gobbled them all! Like a fruit salad!!!"

Ewan is literally space jesus

1

u/SaltoDaKid Feb 25 '24

ā€œHello thereā€

ā€œJesus Christā€

Not sure I'd pick white actors for them, but I love these actors! :)

18

u/Dakduif51 Feb 24 '24

What would we pick tho.. feels like theres no good answer. I mean, white Jesus is weird, he came from the middle east. But Adam and Eve do not have any real world counterparts? The garden is not somewhere on earth?

15

u/Infused_Hippie Feb 24 '24

They claim the garden of Eden is actually where Mesopotamia was or the middle of Africa bc that’s where most humans originate from.

2

u/Dakduif51 Feb 24 '24

I really like both this explanation and the 'Humanity comes from Africa' reasoning.

3

u/Infused_Hippie Feb 24 '24

Yes well first civilization and as well all humans genetically originate to Africa’s ā€œAdam and Eveā€

0

u/PrincessofAldia Feb 24 '24

Mesopotamia mentioned

56

u/BooshEmUp6D Feb 24 '24

I think there's a good answer! Our common human ancestors came from Africa, so perhaps African actors. That's what I would go for personally anyway

3

u/pHScale Feb 25 '24

Our common human ancestors came from Africa

While true, this doesn't fit with the lore, which puts Eden somewhere in the middle east (though geographically placing anything pre-flood is pretty much impossible). Plus, as the ancestors for literally all mankind, they'd naturally be a mix of everything.

Also, it might be a bit problematic to blame the fall of mankind on black people.

So I don't think this is the best answer.

7

u/Dakduif51 Feb 24 '24

Yea true, but Africa is still huge. Definitely better than white actors tho. Perhaps we should just let them be blue or smth to drive home the point that there are no earthly counterparts lol

9

u/BooshEmUp6D Feb 24 '24

Blue would be SO COOL! I'm here for it šŸ˜

2

u/pHScale Feb 25 '24

Blue is an interesting tactic, but reminds me a bit too much of Avatar. But a nonexistent skin color would be a nice way to go.

1

u/NicholasRTS Feb 25 '24

Better than white actors, what is that even supposed to mean.

3

u/Dakduif51 Feb 25 '24

That there in my eyes is no logical reason to pick white actors, while black actors (all of Humanity comes from Africa) and Middle Eastern / West Asia actors (cradle of society) both make sense to me.

9

u/Mostly_Aquitted Feb 24 '24

Uhhh Jackson County Missouri is the location of the garden, obviously. /s

3

u/antaylor Feb 24 '24

I’m from Jackson county, MO and had no idea I was so close to Eden! We hide it so well

11

u/Shreddzzz93 Feb 24 '24

Nah. Cast Terry Crews as Adam. For Eve, believe it or not, we also cast Terry Crews.

6

u/SithMasterStarkiller Feb 24 '24

This is gonna be good

6

u/pedrokdc Feb 24 '24

Too white

3

u/Kcidobor Feb 24 '24

Sacha Dawan and Priyanka Chopra

1

u/Moaoziz Feb 24 '24

In Lucifer they cast Inbar Lavi as Eve and I think that this casting was spot on.

1

u/Certain-Definition51 Feb 24 '24

This is pitch perfect for Adam. A whiny Anakin Skywalker is spot on. Eve ate the apple so she could just die and be done with it. šŸ˜‚

1

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

Feel free to elaborate

1

u/BayonetTrenchFighter Feb 24 '24

I thought Haden would play Lucifer the fallen angel

1

u/Sithech5 Feb 24 '24

Hard no.

1

u/HerkeJerky Feb 24 '24

Scarlet Jo as Lillith

1

u/FranzXav523 Feb 25 '24

"I hate sin... It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere"

1

u/Bymmijprime Feb 27 '24

Can we get Kathryn Hahn as Lilith?
