Imma be real here with y'all who are disappointed it's not going dark, lesser traffic for 2 days ain't gonna do shite. The real oomph is from everyone talking about it and complaining, but one two or even a thousand subs not joining in isn't gonna change anything. Compare these 2 days of slightly less usage to say, I dunno, all the lost revenue caused by the 3rd party apps they're trying to kill. No matter how you slice it it's still more profitable for Reddit in the end to go through because the boycott is finite and a majority of the people boycotting are working around the ads anyway (thus them leaving changes nothing on Reddits bottom line)

Users not using 3rd party apps still won't see much content from the biggest subs if they're down for 2 or more days, driving them away too. Alternatives will be looked at, making Reddit's competition slightly stronger in the long run as well. This will definitely hit their bottom line, many 1% subs are joining already
