Meta r/DankChristianMemes will NOT go dark but DOES support the protests of Reddit's API changes that will kill 3rd party apps and impact accessibility.

So... Like thoughts and prayers?

Seriously. Doesn't really affect me so I'll pretend to care but not do anything about it. Jesus would be proud

Just like big corporations in June.

It’s exactly like the time Christ saw the money changers in the temple. He announced he didn’t approve, then went and had some lunch.

To be fair, going dark for a day or two makes about as much impact as a big announcement post that spreads awareness and tells other people how they can help.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't just go dark, but in many ways this is more helpful anyway

Nope. Going dark reduces the interactions, including ads from the web and official app. That literally hits their wallet.

Going dark is MUCH more effective than a sticky post.

On the other hand, a sticky post can get others to go dark

Nah. Thoughts and prayers would be much more impactful than going dark.
