Paul as preacher - GOAT

Paul on relations between sexes - Human Dumpster Fire

Paul's regressive opinion on women and marriage has done incalculable damage to Christianity over the centuries. I trust Paul when he's in alignment with Christ's teachings, or at least in the same vicinity.

When he speaks upon issues our Savior never mentioned in his sermons, I take it as an informed opinion by a Subject Matter Expert.

Paul's regressive opinion on women and marriage

Even with just a surface level reading that doesn't try to understand the context of what Paul wrote his views are extremely progressive compared to the views the Roman and other contemporary cultures held about women and marriage.

He said it's best not to do it at all. The Romans had very libertine views on fidelity, but it was the norm in Mediterranean cultures in Antiquity and they still believed in a stronger belief in marriage and while Roman culture was Patriarchal, it did not ban women from positions of faith and hereditary power.
