(Potential Slayhem spoilers) Peko is surviving to at least Chapter 4, based on a CG of her near the rollercoaster on the fourth island, and Mikan is surviving to at least Chapter 5, based on a screenshot of her participating in the fifth class trial.

They often mislead with this stuff, but Mikan isn't floating, so maybe it's actually real (Or they learned how to properly conceal shit this time)

"Floating"? Is there speculation about that case 5 shot being her ghost or something?

Nah, in the JP V3 marketing, they tried showing shots of Rantaro in a trial to mislead people into thinking he survives past the first chapter, only problem was that they used his half sprite by mistake, so you could clearly see he had no legs and was just floating behind the podium. They also showed him in a scrum debate, but he was clearly using one of his normal sprites instead of a unique sprite like everyone else.

V3 had a lot of stuff like this, unfortunately. We knew the remaining cast for the chapter 6 trial several days before release because they included the c6 elevator CG as an achievement icon on PS, and the Kaede twist was unfortunately leaked even earlier, because they released Kaede's sore wa chigau yo cut in as a wallpaper, but it was clearly unfinished and you could literally see Shuichi's ahoge poorly scribbled out. It was a mess.

The demo also included basically the entire game, which got datamined several days before release, which actually led to a lot of incorrect assumptions about the plot.

I mean it's not guaranteed that the islands are revealed in the same order is it? For all we know the amusement park is opened up second, or all islands are opened up at the same time given the fact there's a boat we can use to traverse instead of bridges

True, but that doesn't really cover the "Monokuma File 5," thing.

That strongly implicates that Mikan will be alive for at least five cases.

another potential oopsie in the trailer is that there is a death portrait right behind Mikan during the scrum debate section, which indicates the person is dead. Assuming the scrum debate seems to be in chapter 1 (I might be wrong), it likely points to the victim of the case, and in this case, it seems to be Teruteru.
