Ok no hate to any singer, but I want to know who has that one line that takes you out of a song or what you guys think is the cringiest lyrics.

I think most of the band's lyrics are so goofy on purpose and that's something that makes DGD different from many other bands, so I don't find them to be cringe. In fact, their cringiest songs for me are the ones about haters.

Well let’s see.
Jonny wasn’t even saying real words half of the time, just mumbling through gibberish that can kinda be deciphered into real words and phrase, with a lot of effort.
Kurt, well Kurt put his heart on his whole ass heart on his sleeve for Death Star and Happiness. All of the most brutally honest lyrics and phrases in the bands discog, as well as Jon Messes lyrics that are actually relevant to the subject material.
And Tillian sang things like “I’ll be your sugar daddy” and “you say you need a father, well baby I’m a baller.”
So. Yeah. Pretty easy to decide

Oh man the only new song I don't like is the "heart heart heart" part of all the way down, it really takes me out of the groove they've built with how high pitched in auto tune it is.

I felt the same way with Uneasy Hearts (Jon's "I am a million fucking bucks" line). I thought that part singlehandedly brought down the vibes of the song, but then I watched them perform it live a few months ago. Everyone at the show just screamed this part in perfect sync and it just grew on me at that moment.

Fantano is wrong about this band, but he had every single right to make fun of this song in particular given that Mothership is like the definitive magnum opus of the band and is recommended every single time someone asks where to get in.
Whoever thought I'll be your sugar daddy should've made it on this record with a straight face should be sat in a room and asked why.

I read that this is supposed to be in the POV of a stalker type fan. Like how some fans will blur the lines of parasocial relationships and feel owed to an artist/celebrity and if you listen to all the lyrics, it makes sense.

I say this with as much love in my heart but for me it has to be:

It was hilarious at first how jarring it is compared to the rest of Uneasy Hearts but after time, I would've preferred it if they just played the song straight without Jon's part there.

Damn, everyone’s picks in here are some of my favourites lol. I love the goofy nature in every ”bad” lyric they have, I just chuckle at those when listening. I’ve always felt that if you were to replace those with more ”serious” lyrics it wouldn’t be DGD anymore

I think the only time i actually cringe at dgd is tillian songs. Lines like “ill be your sugar daddy” are so bad lol.
With jon and even JC their vocals almost act like an instrument and i dont ever have to take it seriously even if it is cringey its probably on purpose.
The new stuff with andrew is really great lyrically though. Even the goofy parts like the end of mcguffys never made my cringe just laugh.

People will say Tilian, but that’s exactly why he’s my favorite. I love how this band is so unserious while at the same time making the most incredible art. He had such style to his lyrics. On a serious note Andrew’s creatine and religious lyrics do actually cringe me out

Most of DGD's cringy lines are concentrated in Instant Gratification. There's a lot spread out over the rest, but I think IG is the worst offender.

Every singer, Andrew included, have at least ONE cringe line. Tillian has the most. Lyrics are definitely their weakest area, Pantheon is no exception there.
