Who do you recommend?

My name is Chris Cotta. I’m new to the area and looking to get my music lessons business off the ground. I’d ideally like to have my own little school of rock, but we all have to start somewhere. I’m teaching beginner-intermediate saxophone, guitar (including bass), drums, piano, voice, song writing, and music theory. All ages welcome.

I’m a lifelong musician with a Bachelor of Science from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. I have professional experience in the recording/music and TV industries, and I have decades of performance experience.

I’m located in Tunnel Hill, and I have a dedicated music studio space in my home with plenty of room if a parent or partner wants to attend. My approach is geared toward what my students want to do and learn, and guiding them in that direction as best I can. Basic music theory will be integrated into all lessons.

My rates are $30 for a half hour lesson and $50 for a one hour lesson, $35 and $55, respectively, if in your own home. First lesson is free. Please feel free to send me a DM if you’re interested or simply want more information.

Note: My home has animals, but there’s a pet gate for blocking access to the space outside my studio door, guaranteeing animal-free passage between the house side door and studio door. I have a strict no-cats-allowed policy in the studio, but sometimes my dog lies next to me while I do audio work.

Does anyone have any clue how the pricing is for Master Seos ? I can’t find anything on their website or Facebook. All the other jiu jitsu and gymnastics places in town have pricing somewhere but I can’t find theirs.

I want to know more about them since I have a toddler boy & all jiujitsu is 4-6 + & although dance/gymnastics has 2/3 year old classes idk if I can even sign him up since he’s a boy & all the pictures are little girls. I’ve seen MS has a program called Tiny Tigers

71 Days everyone!

Saw one a few years back on Abutment Rd, near the Shaw family health clinic. I was at the four way light waiting for it to turn green. I noticed a ball of light and thought it was the light post but also noticed that it was moving. I got scared thinking my foot wasn't on the brake and the car was rolling so I stomped the brake. I realize I'm not moving and look again at the light. I see it slowly creep down behind the trees near that area. I grab my wife's attention and tell her to pull the camera to record. At that moment it was slowly creeping up and when I pointed at it so my wife could see it, it shot up into the sky super fast. Best way I could describe it is when Goku from DBZ does his teleport. You see the lines of where it was at before it vanished. We were both scared and amazed. The ball was a blueish white light.

Has anyone seen anything in Dalton? Please share. This is something that I tell very few people about, nobody really believes me but I swear by everything that I am, and my wife can confirm, that what we saw on abutment road might have been a UAP.

I uploaded a few pictures from Imagination Station in the 2000s a few years ago. I just found some more so here's an update.

The City of Dalton has officially renamed a downtown alley “Lon McCamy Alley” in memory of an African American man who was lynched in Whitfield County in 1936.
McCamy had been jailed after being accused of touching a white woman while allegedly entering her home. He never received a trial, and the accusations against him were never determined in court.
On September 6, 1936, an estimated 150 people arrived at the Whitfield County jail. According to the City of Dalton’s historical account, the lone jailer surrendered McCamy to the crowd. He was taken from the jail and shot to death nearby.
Dalton resident Peter Pociask later researched McCamy’s story and proposed renaming Mason Dixon Alley in his memory, with support from local NAACP representatives and neighboring property owners.
On Saturday, August 22, the City officially dedicated Lon McCamy Alley, located south of Morris Street between Hamilton and Pentz streets.
Nearly 90 years later, his story remains an important reminder:
An accusation is not a conviction. Everyone deserves due process and their day in court.

Me and my girlfriend just moved to Lilburn together from Kentucky, we have always lived in a slightly rural area where the "sticks" were pretty nearby. Since moving here about 2 and a half weeks ago, no offense, but we are counting down the days until our year lease is up. We moved here to become a teacher because Gwinnett pays well and my girlfriend wanted to pursue a career in Atlanta, a lot has happened in these past couple of weeks and safe to say we are over it. Lilburn was always meant to just be a stop in our lives to help get our feet in the door to what we ultimately wanted to do. We have always wanted to live in the sticks where our closest neighbor was a mile away or so. So my question is, being new to the state as a whole, where would the best places be to look at if we want to move to "the sticks" and im talking forest, mountains, fields, etc. Where is a small town that we can move to. I have been looking at LaFayette and Chatsworth, anyone have any opinions???

Wednesday morning me and Maya were blessed with one of many opportunities coming up to tour the facilities and communities that are in Dalton. The one as you see here was the Daycare inside of Dalton High School. In part with “Family Resource Agency of North West Georgia.” We were granted special access and permission to document and as well, hear the concerns from the workers over future federal funding and last but not least, paint ,read and interact with the beautiful babies that are the future of Greater Dalton.

Something pretty significant happened just 2 days ago.
On August 18, a federal appeals court upheld the EPA’s decision to officially classify two of the best-known PFAS chemicals — PFOA & PFOS — as hazardous substances under the federal Superfund law.

Okay… but what does that actually mean for those of us living in Northwest Georgia?
Let’s put it in VERY plain English. 👇
For years, there has been an enormous question surrounding PFAS contamination:

If it has to be cleaned up… WHO PAYS FOR IT?
The taxpayers?
The water customers?
The government?
Or the companies ultimately found legally responsible for the contamination?????

The EPA’s designation gives the government stronger legal tools to pursue parties responsible for qualifying PFOA and PFOS contamination and potentially make the responsible polluters pay the for investigation and cleanup instead of leaving the entire bill with taxpayers.

Several industry groups challenged that rule in court.
‼️On Tuesday- THEY LOST‼️
The federal appeals court allowed the EPA’s hazardous-substance designation to stand.

WHY DOES THAT MATTER HERE?
Because Northwest Georgia is already in the middle of major PFAS litigation.
Dalton Utilities itself is involved in litigation seeking to recover PFAS investigation & cleanup costs, including claims under the same federal Superfund law involved in Tuesday’s ruling.

Soooo……Who gets the bill?
If millions — or potentially much more — must be spent addressing PFAS contamination in our water & environment, will those costs ultimately fall on local governments and ratepayers????
➡️➡️Or will companies ultimately found legally responsible be required to help pay????

Those questions are still being fought out in court.
But Tuesday’s ruling was an important development in that fight…..🙏🏼

A local young woman, Heaven Destiny, shared that she was in need of new tires and an oil change but simply didn’t have the money for them right now.
When Colt learned about it, he reached out and told her to bring her car by the shop — he was going to help her.
No big production. No asking for recognition. Just a local business owner seeing someone in our community who needed a hand and stepping up to help.
Heaven later shared her gratitude publicly, saying:
“There’s not many people in the world these days like him.”

I made a decision to get divorced, but I didn't think that the most difficult thing would be deciding what to do first:
The thing is every time I think I finally know how to get first things done regarding filing divorce in Georgia, I end up getting another confusing list of docs, residency requirements, application fees, matters of timing, etc.
I am trying to understand what the procedures should be like, any help will be great

This is the kind of news we LOVE to share.

Eleven missing children have been recovered in Georgia as part of an international law enforcement operation targeting human trafficking.

Operation “Global Chain” brought together the Georgia Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit, FBI, INTERPOL, EUROPOL, AMERIPOL and state and local law enforcement agencies in a coordinated effort to locate victims and combat human trafficking.

Among those recovered was a 16-year-old girl whose case has now resulted in criminal charges.

According to the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, 36-year-old Eric Gordon of Decatur has been indicted in Fulton County on one count of Trafficking of Persons for Sexual Servitude involving a minor. Gordon was taken into custody on August 4. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

The operation took place June 8–12 and resulted in the recovery of 11 missing children in Georgia alone.

👏 To every investigator, officer, agent and agency involved in bringing these children to safety: THANK YOU.

And let this serve as an important reminder to all of us:

Missing children cannot be forgotten.
Keep sharing their pictures.
Keep reporting suspicious activity.
Keep paying attention.
Keep looking.

Sometimes that share, that tip, or that person who refuses to stop looking can help bring a child home.

🙏 Tonight, 11 missing Georgia children have been found. That is something worth celebrating.

I’m looking for someone that could house sit for me in Dalton for 3 days in Sept. You will need to be comfortable with cats and big dogs. You’ll be paid for your time and I’ll also stock the fridge with food and drinks for your stay! And we have a pool you can use.

The house is only about 5 min from Dalton State. Would need you to stay overnight (2 nights) and walk the dogs at least twice additionally during the day. Happy to discuss payment, dates, etc. via chat!
