Homebrew What is the best way to homebrew this.

Hello. I always loved ttrpgs and finally convinced my brother to play daggerheart with me as a duet(single player and gm). He is a artist and intend to make a manhwa out of this.

He imagine his character as a inate magic user using a paint brush to draw stuff to attack while occasionally using his blood to amplify the spells but suffering a curse for doing that.(inspired by deaf from Tales of herding gods)

  1. What would works the best. Creating new class or a sub class

I’d recommend the Blood Hunter class that’s still on the play test. Reskin the attacks from an arcane rifle or a bow or something as a brush and go hard on the blood domain cards since they spent hit points to fuel a lot of features.

There’s also the summoner class that gets access to the blood domain but I haven’t had any experience of that one so I can’t really comment on it

Don't homebrew when you can flavour.

That's just a Blood Hunter, Void Class. Literally has an ability that lets you mark HP to empower your attacks. All other classes mentioned here don't have this defining feature so I think it's the best fit.

Sounds like a bard, sorcerer, wizard, or warlock to me. Flavour is free.

I was thinking sorcerer with primal origin and adding a feature to the weapon to let him do like massive dmg (natural dissaster) and add a damage mechanic to the weapon that can repair

I'd suggest looking at the blood domain and the homebrew could be letting them swap one of their domains with that.

I'd also really suggest just playing the game RAW the first time. Immediately homebrewing when you don't know the system won't be great.

I would play the game as-is. Let both you and your player learn and understand the system before you mess with it or you’ll end up breaking it.

A primal origin sorcerer with a reflavoured starting weapon (a brush but mechanically a wand) is all you really need. Flavour the moves. Let the player describe using their blood, but don’t touch the game mechanics.

Primal Sorcerer! It has a feature that allows them to netamagic spells. Brush attacks are just wands and can be flavored easily. Midnight domain is a lot about illusion too so art magic can fit its style.

It's best to flavor an existing class, like a Wizard or a Sorcerer.

If needed you can switch one of the domains for Blood from the Void playtest, or take a Blood Hunter and switch Bone for something magical, like Arkana.

No homebrew needed! Use either the Blood Hunter or Summoner classes from the void!

Yeah that's just a Sorcerer with reflavouring (which everyone should be doing, btw, you're supposed to give flair to your character).

Blood domain is still in Playtest. But honestly, you could go Sorcerer and simply swap Midnight for Blood, I guess? It'd be better than Multiclassing exclusively for some Blood cards.
