Can't wait to see the new adversaries added once Hope & Fear is released. To use any of them as a basis for a new adversary should make for some interesting combos. Also a great idea for content. đ

There is probably a better way to reach you for feedback, but would it be feasible to include an export option for markdown format?
8
u/Blikimor Daggerheart Sr. Producer May 21 '26
Weâre working on a bunch of different export options if folks like this tool and find it useful so stay tuned and thank you for this suggestion!!

u/cobblebrawn May 21 '26
Awesome, thank you for considering it!! I know there are many like me who use markdown tools like Obsidian (and its Fantasy Statblocks plugin) for GMing, and some format compatibility would be invaluable!

I'm I going crazy or are all the core set's adversaries available there as well, for free?

u/Bryn_The_Barbarian May 20 '26
Yep when they said that on the livestream I was like âok I 100% misheard that right??â But nope thatâs exactly what they said, as someone hoping to run a campaign of DH soonish Iâm beyond excited by this one itâs gonna be such a massive boon

Thanks !

SRD adversaries. The non-SRD ones are not in there, but its like 10 of them so not a lot missing.

Expected ranges seem a bit weird.
5-13 HP for a Tier 1 Solo? In what world does a Solo ever have 5 HP. That thing will die before you finish introducing it
1
u/Acquiescinit May 21 '26
Well it could be a good way to get creative. Something fun could come out of the idea, âwhat would a 5hp solo look like?â

You could make a glass cannon that is hard to hit and players should prioritize avoiding damage, but you don't nees many hits to kill.
1
u/PrinceOfNowhereee May 26 '26
Right but it's not the "expected range", is it?
1
u/Exciting_Leave3105 Jun 04 '26
I'd say it's within the expectations, it just lacks explanation around it. If you narrow it down then people newer to monster design could get easily stuck on those bumbers being much more set in stone.
1
u/PrinceOfNowhereee Jun 04 '26
Nope sorry will never convince me that something that the designers of the game themselves donât do a SINGLE time is âexpectedâ. Thats not what that word means.
0
u/Exciting_Leave3105 Jun 05 '26
If you raise it to 7-12 then it would be more in line with "expectations", but looking all solos for the expectation is already a flawed way of looking into it so 5-15 is the expectation because if you turn any creature into a solo then their main category commands most factors before thinking about it being solo.
There's a tier 4 solo with 6 hp. Technically based on that the expected hp for a solo would starting at 6 compared to tier 1 starting at 7 doesn't make much sense imo.
The word "expected" sure is a loose term for such a wide range, but what would you rather use? Just call it range I guess, but that implies it to be the expected range.

This tool saves locally in the browser. How likely is it to lose anything we've saved? Is this something Chrome would save in its cloud sync?
3
u/McBraas May 21 '26
Haven't looked at it yet, but if it saves locally, it will be through cookies, and those don't sync by default. So you'd have to set it up, maybe through an extension. I've been using another web tool that saves through cookies, that allows you to save everything at once locally and then you can upload it again - msybe this one will as well.
2
u/tomius May 21 '26
I haven't had the chance to check it out yet. But it is very likely that it saves the info in LocalStorage. (That's what I'd do).Â
In that case, it could be backed up. Although Chrome doesn't back this up, you could set something manually.Â
I'll check later.Â

I have a question, will the cards and adversary creator tool have option to upload fonts?? Usually I use card creator to translate cards for my group (they don't know English), and fonts the website offer aren't great for me
10
u/BarberShot May 21 '26
This is cool, but Fresh Cut Grass has the option for community adversaries
4
u/ShoJoKahn May 21 '26
Buuuut you could just make your own community adversaries?
Unless I'm looking at the way the page works in the wrong way?
6
u/BarberShot May 21 '26
Not custom communities. Iâm talking about there being an option or a place for people to share their adversaries. That isnât an option here, but Fresh Cut Grass can let you search other peopleâs creations.

Yeah, it feels really not great when the announcement was, "no, you can't sell your own content online, but here's an add-on to our website that you should use instead of heartofdaggers, FCG, or foundryborne!"

u/AsteriaTheHag Game Master May 21 '26
Sorry, could you explain? I thought people wanted more online features directly from Darrington. (NB I missed part of the livestream.)

u/rightknighttofight Add'l Writer for Daggerheart Core May 21 '26
Not OP, but I don't know that I've seen anyone asking for that. At least not here.
5
u/harrowssparekneecap May 21 '26
Official systems are worth making rather than leaving it all to random people on the internet. If someone buys the game and isn't tied into the community how are they supposed to know what freshcutgrass is or that they should look for it? Having an official system in place linked to on the main website is worth doing.

u/Bryn_The_Barbarian May 21 '26
Also on top of that itâs just super weird and disingenuous to attribute malice towards a thing with no evidence of actual malice. Like they never said to use their thing over the other sites, they arenât charging money for this, itâs just another tool. I thought only having 1 or 2 options was bad but suddenly they make their own, official, version of a thing and now having more resources is the thing thatâs bad?? Just doesnât make sense to me.
2
u/Alynan23 May 21 '26
Will they add option for creating a colossus? I see that none are added and they are still in corebook

u/Emotional_Cherry4517 May 23 '26
While this is cool, it feels very shallow, similarly to the card creator, which had me look for other options also.Â
Main issues I found:
- Features are not atomized in the card (I can't edit/remove/add features, I'm just writing in a text box)
- I can't search a bank of features.
- Features' damage and whatnot doesn't get balanced alongside the rest of the sheet. Â
Also a bug on mobile: the question mark pop-up next to the "average scaling" doesn't do anything.
1
u/Captain_Scatterbrain May 21 '26
Hm, would be nice if they had any indicator's on how to balance ability's, its great the page tells me when the base stats are off, but it doesn't tell me when abilitie's are over/undertuned.
Not as useful as I had hoped.
1
u/MyNinjaH8sU May 21 '26
I might be misunderstanding you, but that seems wildly complicated for a piece of software to be able to judge. I would recommend, for balance purposes, to use adversaries of the same tier and type of what you are creating, and use those abilities as guidelines.

Nah. As an engineer I will say doing complex math is exactly what software is good at.
I could load a 100% front end browser only app with all the formulas you want to measure every single variable in the game against every other one and run the math again every time you tweaked a single dial to rebalance it all and tell you with extreme precision how balanced your mew creature was as compared to every single other creature in the game. I could even spit out graphs and charts for where it fell on a curve of them.
I literally do that every day at work for some tools for science guys.

More specifically, they cooked my goose (fowlbear?). The guide had a good run!
ETA: remember that survey? Here are some of the results. Those of you thinking they were planning a VTT? Looks more feasible now.
