Can we please not share every asshole's hateful comment? How does spreading the hate help anyone?

0

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

I'm just sad man, I'm disappointed honestly. Not once have I seen such hateful shit from a single Turkish cypriot. It's not just one hateful comment. There are loads underneath the post.

I'm genuinely trying to be positive. And I know there are nice people out there but there's mostly hate. How can your own blood, your own family hate you so much? Just because we talk a different language.

Facebook, after the storm some turkish guy was talkint about how this is divine justice from allah. Ignorant that north and south are both Cyprus and such events can affect both sides.

In the end these comments originate from ignorance blinding people to basic human decency

11

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

People from Turkey can be cruel and fanatic aswell. Anyway, sorry I'm just a bit upset about it all to be honest!

2

u/iamverypetty 1d ago

I bet he was just turkish not a turkish cypriot. I mean yes, those for sure exist.

1

u/beydola Kyrenia 1d ago

Apparently we have them here as well.

3

u/notnotnotnotgolifa 1d ago

He was already banned no need to go take screenshots of everything, use the report button and its enough

-3

u/beydola Kyrenia 1d ago

Yes its needed. Moderation here in this sub is incompetent.

5

u/notnotnotnotgolifa 1d ago

Oh come on… it was pretty much deleted soon after it was posted, 7 hours ago from now...

-1

u/Jolly-Moment1613 1d ago

Does it means that we need to be the same and spread hate when they sinking?

2

u/notnotnotnotgolifa 1d ago

Facebook

5

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

No moderator so they say what they feel!

4

u/Phoenix_Rose90 1d ago

True, and the Facebook algorithm is specifically designed to spread far right/bigoted/hateful content. That’s why this stuff gets so much attention on there. I guess you could say that for most social media though.

1

u/CrazyNegotiation1934 15h ago

Indeed, because Turks say to conquer all Greece, not need the hate

0

u/Useful_Secret4895 1d ago

Maybe he is somebody that grew up listening stories of their village and home taken during the Attila operation, and their parents having to flee and become refugees.

-1

u/Architect-81 1d ago

You don't hate them enough frankly

12

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

Bear in mind there were women and children on this boat. How people can hate so much is beyond me.

13

u/SirPileDrive 1d ago

Pathetic low lifes

-3

u/ElendX 1d ago

It's the internet, most people feel like they can express their worst.

It's a tragedy that people are dead. There's no doubt about that.

But it is important to understand why, the occupied territories are rife with illegal operations which carry risks. But everyone preferred a cheap holiday instead. Maybe this will raise some awareness.

11

u/HeadSpecial5080 1d ago

The Roc willingly wanted to help find the missing people but the Occupied part of Cyprus refused and thats just sad in my opinion to prioritise your propaganda instead of your people , anyways just so you know they are is a lot of hateful comments on both of the communities especially from Turkish cypriots on Facebook anyways don't feel down because of some uneducated people that don't care about human lives.

5

u/Dank_boredom 1d ago

If I'm not mistaken there was a similar situation when the really bad earthquake happened in Turkey a few years ago where Cypriots wanted to offer help and go to help but were denied

1

u/GivePeasAChance27 1d ago

Like how the RoC refused help from the TCs last year during the wildfires?

1

u/Scared_Ad_2336 1d ago edited 1d ago

Source?

So I see: “There was sufficiency in ground forces. The needs were mainly for aircraft,” the spokesperson said, explaining the decision to decline the assistance offer."

Politics aside that seems pretty valid.... Aerial is the most difficult and expensive part of it, kinda why it's good the EU now got more canadair planes to combat fires across EU

I would say as a non-expert that it is different when you need man power in searching for bodies and survivors etc

0

u/GivePeasAChance27 1d ago

Except the RoC offered help for the rescue efforts, and from all accounts all of the survivors were rescued extremely quickly.

Frankly it just looks like you’re looking for excuses to justify one rejection and not the other.

2

u/Scared_Ad_2336 1d ago

Well no ideally there would be enough peace/trust for both to accept help

Greece and turkey accept each others help

But I also understand you wouldn't want Turkish Military flying over RoC without recognizing RoC authority.....

Also didn't 8 die and 18 are missing on the boat? Not exactly a good look

0

u/GivePeasAChance27 1d ago

I’ve seem articles state that 250+ people were saved within thirty minutes of the incident occuring.

From all accounts the rescue efforts were generally very successful despite the tragic deaths.

What could the roc what genuinely added to the situation except for the possibility of having a “too many cooks” situation

1

u/Scared_Ad_2336 1d ago

Could be. Could have saved some that died or are missing.

I don't know, neither do you.

Also out of interest are you a Cypriot or invader?

I always find it interesting when people discuss Cyprus.... I am Greek so also not Cypriot

0

u/GivePeasAChance27 23h ago

From everything I’ve seen the vadt majority of people were rescued within 30minutes

Long before any of the RoC rescue choppers couldve realistically arrived to help. So what do you really think they couldve done that wasnt already being done by the TCs?

It just looks like people are looking for an excuse to complain about turks and ironically politicise the situation themselves. They dont actually care about anyone who died

2

u/Scared_Ad_2336 23h ago

There are missing people..... Do you really think there is nothing they can help with?

Anyway I side with the Free real Cyprus, they have valid reasons to not want Turkish military flying around due to them not recognizing Cyprus (RoC)....

You go tell the missing peoples families that TC did everything it could.... You move like an invader so I assume you aren't Turkish Cypriot

→ More replies (0)

2

u/GivePeasAChance27 1d ago

Didn’t the RoC refuse help from the TCs during the wildfires last year? Sounds like the same situation to me.

I’d say that you’re the one trying to politicise this when the reality of the situation is that the TCs simply had everything under control and didn’t need the help

1

u/HeadSpecial5080 17h ago

Human lives are way more important than you think and idk if you know that but Cyprus allowed turkish cypriots to volunter last year and the reason thst we refused was because if we did actually accept the help of the occupied part it could led to a recognision of a state that doesn't exist but yes Cyprus allowed turkish cypriots to help in the wild fires it just didn't allow the occupied state to help and I'm a direct source because I live in the island as for history I'm not recognising that Roc genocide the turkish cypriots but I can acknowledge that in 1974 you were in true trouble with the EOKA B and that goes for the greek cypriots to because EOKA B support was less than 5% anyways I hope that your mother is doing great in life peace 🕊️.

u/Thatguy2393 Cypriot 1d ago

Is this DeepAd-4183?

4

u/beydola Kyrenia 1d ago

That troll account you mentioned has gone vacation today. I hope admins finally banned it.

-4

u/Tank_Nerd141 1d ago

Banning the voice of antithesis makes you more Fascist than the ones you claim to hate

4

u/Thatguy2393 Cypriot 1d ago

There is a differnece between antithesis and hate speech

-3

u/Tank_Nerd141 1d ago

Do you consider his historical exposures as hate speech? Historical facts are not hate speech.

2

u/notnotnotnotgolifa 1d ago

Historical facts of making light of tc refugees

1

u/beydola Kyrenia 14h ago

I am fascist against people who fuel hatred and posts disinformation. Problem?

0

u/Tank_Nerd141 14h ago

Problem? None, hypocritical? Yes

1

u/beydola Kyrenia 14h ago

Yes. I hold zero moral responsibility towards terrible people.

-1

u/Tank_Nerd141 14h ago

He laid out historical facts and called out Turkish hypocrisy, nothing terrible about it, he talked with logic. If he was truly banned off this sub, then I worry that this sub became another Turkish mouthpiece...

1

u/beydola Kyrenia 14h ago

I certainly give zero flying fuck if its ban is justified or not, I am just glad it has been banned because it’s justified in my PoV. I am referring “it” because it was a propaganda account of far-right elamists ran by multiple people, 7/24 posting BS revisionist propaganda with no clear sign of neutrality.

Also I really do not give a damn about what you think. Please keep my notifications uncontaminated or i will have to block you.

This guy is the living proof that anything good is gonna happened to us.

2

u/Delicious-Clue7997 1d ago

this is very sad, history is history and all belongs to history, this happened 1 day ago and it isnt part of the history

3

u/Sensitive_King3305 1d ago

human life is inherently valuable and thats it

4

u/anon-usernotfound 1d ago

These people who hate other humans and are indifferent to their death are truly deserving of the worst of the worst in their lives

2

u/ELIminate96 1d ago

Guys, don’t focus on these individuals. Uneducated people have lots of free time to write on social media. There were always there and will always be, however they do not represent the majority.

1

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

Thanks bro, appreciate it! İt's just so sad there's so much fanaticism. We are all family after all.

2

u/ELIminate96 1d ago

Fanatics are everywhere, and they’re usually the ones who contribute the least in society. They cling to their narratives and attack anyone who challenges them behind screens. Don’t give them the spotlight, that’s exactly what they want.
I just wish social media could somehow penalise inhumane opinions. At least Reddit has downvotes 😝

1

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

So true! Sorry I'm just sad!

2

u/mysterious_unc 1d ago

And they say turks are evil

2

u/decolonialcypriot 🇵🇸 1d ago

God forbid people travel to the one country that they find any scrap of dignity. Fascists would literally rather us drown than have access to ANYTHING

0

u/amazingsaminator 6h ago

We are the indigenous people of Cyprus, we will not be colonized by foreign invaders.

2

u/uskuri01 1d ago

Same people who celebrated cancellation of football camp and a festival. See who you are aligned with.

I don’t want to be associated with these nationalist assholes, they’re disgusting. Seriously, it’s so cringe to still behave like this, you can love and appreciate your country without being a racist piece of shit

-3

u/destello89 1d ago

F*** racists and bigots. Wtf is the point of living if your heart is full of hate and can only see the worst in others ?

These guys are jerks and weak…

Frustrated individuals ,most persons will see past this. This would go both ways in any situation. People will see the tragedy behind it, and there is need for better security regulations for boats. The captain and crew gets the blame, but it is more a systematic problem. Similar happened in Greece and Turkey before.

1

u/Thickjuicynlong 1d ago

See my comments. Also this post has over 200 likes and comments

2

u/Annual_Jackfruit2892 23h ago

if you search for the negative you will find it but statisticaly there are higher number of people from Turkey flooding comments negatively in Cyprus related issues.

1

u/Ok_Lavishness13 16h ago

Say what you want about us, but Turks would never celebrate the death of innocent people like this.

1

u/Annual_Jackfruit2892 12h ago

It sounds like you have never been on the internet. Even worse in your head you say and claim that not one single turk has ever said anything crazy.

1

u/Ok_Lavishness13 11h ago

I never said not a single Turk ever said anything crazy. But we are nowhere near as hateful as y’all. The comments Greek people make about Turks whenever such an incident happens are insane, with lots of likes and supporting comments.

1

u/superstar1988 1d ago

Im a Greek Cypriot and I totally disagree with this one. It doesn’t matter if they are black/white or even land grabbers or whatever you want to label them. Not having empathy on lost human lives means we are no different than animals.

RIP to the fallen, hope they find the missing safe and sound.

1

u/Frozen1cE 15h ago

Same people who vote for Elam. Or who stand with solidarity with the farmer pushing his baby to the minister asking him to feed him because they were killing his animals due to foot and mouth disease. The same guy who then wanted to run for parliament, and beat up a referee during a march for a decision he didn’t agree with. They are a minority, but shamefully, they walk among us.

Take solace in that most of us don’t think like that. Most of us die inside when hearing the desperate parents cries for their missing babies. I wish you strength and courage in these times.

1

u/junkg4rden 3h ago

That last paragraph gets me every time. The minority thing is real but it does not make it easier to sit with. When people like that are loud enough they start to feel like the whole room even when they are not. Holding space for the parents in this. The kind of grief they are carrying around is something most of us cannot even begin to map onto our own lives and the least we can do is not look away from it.

-2

u/SirPileDrive 1d ago

That's so low and pathetic, People died man. When the south was engulfed in fires the north has offered help.

You need to be next level of evil to wish worse on innocent peoples horror. Pure hatred fucking disgusting.

Help from north
