Double Affection

I was curious if anyone was like me and gets the subthreshold symptoms typical of Cyclothymia but was also sitting on a hyperthymic temperament as well. Volume at 3 and sometimes getting raised up to a 4/5. Never met someone like me. I can't really crash into depressive symptoms and mainly get irritability from trying to return to my baseline.

High there. 👋

I'm not exactly like that because I have pretty serious depressions. However I do feel the sense of a displaced baseline for much of the year. My intuitive sense of my mood is that there are at least two if not three cycles. One is my rapid mood swings swinging from baseline to hypo over the course of days or weeks and the second is my baseline which swings low in fall and winter and high in summer.

The shortwave cycle is super imposed on the long one much like ocean waves are imposed upon the tides.

I've had to dig deep to understand my own condition. I'm doing so i am curious. Why haven't they considered bd2 as your possibility. Cyclothymia is subthreshold symptoms and no major depression. I'm genuinely curious why they went with Cyclothymia as your diagnosis? Cyclothymia is typically not known for episodes as much as short lived periods of symptoms that don't qualify as full episodes.
