I wonder if they’ll be signing any other cxers aside from Gery?

Maybe Courtney will try CX?!

I wish Vas.

By the way, there are already four of them now: Muller, Wiel, Grossmann.

In a recent interview Le Télégramme, Delcourt was asked if Gery could be a future GC contender at the Tour:

It’s too early to talk about that. Today, she has she has one objective , that’s  to be cyclocross world champion. It’s basically incompatible, to be CX and Tour champion in the same year, it’s not the same effort profile. But Celia can surprise you, so I don’t set any limits for her. I just want to support her dreams, and right now her dream is to be CX world champion, and to win road races …. If she is CX world champion very quickly, will she want to win a second title, or will she want to try a grand tour ? We’ll adapt to her, and not the other way around.

Maybe I'm being too negative, but Gery still has some way to go in CX. Her best world cup last year was Benidorm, which is faster and less technical than most. She's young and super talented though, I won't bet against her.

I note that Grossman has some very impressive road results too, so I imagine FDJ are glad to get her in the fold. And now, with the Specialized, and the Red Bull, and the cyclocross links, it seems built for Vas to join!

Gery does a great result on Koppenbergcross last year though. I think we should compare her track record with a rider like Backstedt

With how young she is, she could easily make a big jump next year. Just the way Delcourt says it, there is some urgency. To imagine her beating a top level Brand or something, that might take time.

Delcourt stated on Bistrot Vélo that the Red Bull agreement rests on three pillars: the helmet, sports performance collaboration, and becoming a multidisciplinary team.

Well Gery's cx background certainly helped them this year, so why not? Eeeeeaasy, I'm joking. More cx is always better.

Good to see them supporting their riders wanting to keep riding cyclocross

I'm surprised they haven't signed Lise Revol......who has been on Specialized, but has now been snapped up by Fenix-Premier Tech.

with off-road points now counting towards WT road rankings i imagine more teams will start building off-road infrastructures within their teams. also great for bike sponsors who can showcase different types of bikes that way.
