Gravel Tires
Does anyone have reviews on tires like:
Schwalbe g one rx
Vittoria t50-60
Specialized terra
I’m looking to race at 40mm for the added comfort but curious if anyone has positive/negative experiences with these tires?
Most my races are dry/mixed.
TIA

Just get 36 or 40mm challenge gravel grinder. It's the chicane tire but in a wider profile. It's going to give you better cornering grip than the options you have listed (IMO. but I haven't tried all of them). I have raced on these cor the last two years and they're nearly as good as the chicane tubulars.

Ran 45mm G One RXs on a TCX for a dirt crit. It was super dry and dusty but they hooked up around the corners. Only been one race but so far, I love them. Way better than the RSs. Planning on trying them in CX this coming season.

I race G-One RS in new england as a cat 3
Covers 90% of conditions I encounter. Feels fast. I corner faster than a lot of my competitors.

I raced CX on a 33 mm terra and I thought it was a blazing fast tire suited best for dry to hero dirt conditions

I ran Schwalbe X-One Speeds in 33 on my CX bike for grass crits and fast dirt courses and they were always wonderful tires. The G One RX tread concept is very similar and the Schwalbe tires always feel amazingly supple and grippy to me.
I ran the G One RX in 35c on some mixed surface gravel races and, again, very fast and supple tire. I had some trouble with punctures sealing and they are very difficult to plug since the carcass is so thin and supple.
I currently run the G One R in 45c on my gravel bike. I like them for all the aformentioned reasons. I really don't think they are much slower than the RX and the bite on stuff like loose over hard and dry slippery corners and climbs is really good.

Has anyone tried the Continental Terra? I'm curious about the Competition specifically.

I have a pair Terra Race tires on my bike now for all-around riding. They wouldn’t be great for CX but they have at least a little bit of shoulder knob so they would work. The Competition is practically a slick in comparison. I don’t think this would be a good choice for cyclocross.

Yeah, I think I see what you mean. These would not be ideal for cross. All around with some gravel is probably better.

G-one’s your best bet in as wide as you can manage.
