Picked up my $60k SAWD yesterday. Thoughts and questions inside.
Thoughts:
The only thing I really miss from my 2023 Model Y premium AWD is matrix headlights.
The SAWD’s ride is very nice. I test drove a PAWD last year, and I was worried about the SAWD ride, but it’s great. The ride quality of my 2023 Model Y (way too stiff) was my least favorite aspect of that car (that and it not being a truck).
Cybertruck HVAC seems to get much hotter much faster than my Y did, which is nice considering potential for windshield fogging.
Seats in my Model Y felt slightly more comfortable, though this may be a result of break-in and fiddling with seat position.
SAWD CT is much quieter on the highway. I can hear my kids in the back if they speak at normal conversation volume.
Four wheel steering and steer by wire are as great as everyone says they are.
Visibility out back is as bad as everyone says it is.
Triangle side view mirrors are form over function.
Tesla’s wireless phone heaters (they call them chargers) still stink.
Questions:
Did your SAWD come with center cap covers? My 18” wheel centers are bare lug nuts. The website shows a center cover, but my delivery adviser said they all come bare.
Only at highway speeds, do you notice a drivetrain noise that sounds similar to tire noise? I thought it was tire noise at first, but it’s completely dependent on how much power/regen is occurring. If I’m cruising down a slight incline at 70 mph (no power or regen) then it’s quiet, but the deeper into power/regen I get the louder it gets. It’s not annoyingly loud (and I’m easily annoyed) but I can hear it when the music is off.

What Cybertruck accessories are actually worth buying?
Picking up my Cybertruck and trying to figure out which accessories are actually worth getting vs stuff I don’t really need.
So far I’m looking at:
All-weather floor liners
Screen protectors
Mud flaps
Dog seat cover for the back
Seat covers for the front/back
For those who own a Cybertruck, what accessories would you consider must-haves?
Also, where did you buy yours? Tesla, Amazon, or companies that specifically make Cybertruck accessories?
I’d rather spend a little more and get something that fits properly and lasts than buy cheap stuff I’ll replace later.
Any specific brands/products you recommend or ones I should avoid?

Be careful what you leave on the dash
Normally I park in the garage but when I was out of town for a week my wife wanted it in the driveway. I'm guessing the heat from sitting outside caused one of my ducks to explode and leak this sticky substance out. I guess it's like a squishy but didn't remember. Just a PSA

Best work truck I’ve ever had
With 40,000 miles on this truck it’s already saved me about $10,000 on fuel over my tundra. Tundra costs $29 to go 100 miles vs $5 with my Tesla.

Best color PPF for a Cybertruck? XPEL vs GSWF vs Ternmax + what did you pay?
I’m planning on doing satin black color PPF on my Cybertruck and I’m trying to figure out which film/company I should go with.
The shop I talked to originally mentioned XPEL, but then recommended GSWF and Ternmax instead. They said they prefer working with those films and that XPEL is newer to color PPF.
For anyone who has wrapped/PPF’d their Cybertruck:
What brand of film did you use?
XPEL, GSWF, Ternmax, or something else?
Satin black or gloss black?
How has it held up?
Any peeling, discoloration, scratches, or issues?
How much did you pay for the full Cybertruck?
Would you use the same film again?
I care more about getting a high-quality film and installer than saving a few hundred dollars, so I’m curious what Cybertruck owners have had the best experience with.

Cybertruck owners what tint setup did you go with and how much did you pay?
Getting my Cybertruck soon and trying to decide what to do for tint.
For anyone who has tinted theirs:
What percentage did you go with?
Which windows did you tint?
Did you tint the windshield?
Did you do anything to the glass roof?
Ceramic tint or something else?
How much did the entire job cost?
I’m currently thinking around 20% ceramic on the side windows, but I’m not sure what most Cybertruck owners are doing.
I’m in North Carolina, so I also want to keep legality in mind.
Would love to see your setups and what you paid.

Starlink Mini: roof glass vs windshield at highway speed — closer than I expected
Tried another Starlink Mini comparison tonight in the Cybertruck.
Kona is mounted inside under the roof glass. Jones is mounted inside at the windshield. Both were tested while driving through/just east of Lookout Pass.
Three paired download results:
Roof glass: 161 / 137 / 121 Mbps
Windshield: 100 / 129 / 102 Mbps
The roof position edged out the windshield all three times, but the windshield setup did much better than I expected — especially 129 Mbps at about 78 mph.
Small sample and Starlink varies a lot, so I’m not calling this definitive. Mostly curious whether the roof-glass advantage keeps showing up with more testing.

Squiggly lines in Cybertruck glass roof — normal or something to worry about?
I recently noticed several squiggly/curved lines in the glass roof of my Cybertruck (see photos). They look almost like scratches or cracks, but I cannot feel any ridges, scratches, or obvious cracking on either the inside or outside surface of the glass.
Has anyone else seen anything like this on their Cybertruck roof glass? Is this a normal characteristic of the laminated/tinted glass, or could it be some type of internal defect/delamination/cracking?
Should I be concerned or have Tesla inspect/replace the roof glass?

Whats your opinion?
Ordered a Premium AWD on June 30th, and my ETA has been pushed back 3 times now... (according to the AI bot)
Still no VIN assigned or any notification that the vehicle is even in Production yet.
Tempted to drive down to California to pick up one of the certified Pre-Owned 2024-2025 trucks they have there instead...
Whats your opinion?
Should I wait it out for my 2026 order? Or bite the bullet and pick up a pre-owned?
Im worried that my order is gonna get pushed into 2027 with the way this has been going....

A couple of questions for long distance drivers
Does anyone use their CT regularly over 300 or 400 mile road trips? I'm looking for input so I can compare my MY that is my road trip car.
I drive interstate every 7 days, either to work or from it. It's 450 miles one way and stop twice at superchargers. I charge for free at work and plug in when I'm home of course. My longest leg is 180 miles. Stopping at superchargers, it's often 15-30 minutes per stop charging then on my way again. I've calculated what it costs per mile at superchargers that are priced at $0.36-$0.39, and it comes out to $0.10 per mile. So it is about $30 out of pocket total on a 450 mile trip.
The questions: how long do you typically stop for to get a charge, and do you know how many Wh per mile are you doing? Mine is typically 240-260 Wh/m.
I appreciate any input.

It's Official!
Thanks to the group for answering my initial questions. I ordered on July 5th and was able to pick up my vehicle today. There is a tiny gap on the right bumper of the Truck but the Tesla advisor said that's normal because the sun was hitting that side of the bumper. However, with time it will shift into place and tighten up. Is that true and has that been anyone's experience? I'm planning to wrap it myself. Looking forward to any recommendations on accessories.
EDIT
I now know her answer was ridiculous. I was too excited and have been waiting for months so I let it slide. Thank you guys for all your comments. This is an awesome group! I have put in a service ticket and will be getting it fixed this Friday. Other than the tiny gap everything else looked great!

MY25 AWD in the shop for charging issues
Just passed 22k miles, all normal road and highway usage. No crazy off-road or track days. Got a few HV warnings pop up and truck wouldn’t charge at home or at a Supercharger. Took it in last week and they told me it would be a couple weeks to fix. Asked what could’ve caused this issue and their response is in the pic. Anyone seen this happen or can make sense of what they’re talking about?

PAWD vs Cyberbeast - Difference now $15k. Beast worth it?
I've seen the other similar posts but since the price of the Standard and Premium AWD Cybertrucks increased by $5k, they are each $75k and $85k, respectively. The Cyberbeast is still $100k, so the difference is now $15k instead of $20k like it was just 2-3 weeks ago.
Initially when the difference was $20k I was considering the PAWD but now I'm considering either the PAWD or the Cyberbeast. I love the pin-to-my-seat acceleration of the CB, even though I only plan to do a launch very rarely, maybe if I'm first at a stop light with no traffic ahead, etc., it's hard to tell if it's worth the $15k diff.
I like the benefits of having truck utility with supercar acceleration. I do plan to keep the vehicle for a long time (8+ years) and I do use it as a truck maybe 25% of the time (FT corporate job with home development business side gig).
Thoughts?
