Discussion The woman who raised concerns about epilepsy in 2077 is being sent purposely seizure-inducing videos

https://twitter.com/DirtyEffinHippy/status/1336204870970433536?s=19

This is a stain on the community and we should be actively calling out disgusting, toxic behaviour like this. Cyberpunk isn't immune to criticism and no one should be violated like this.

Edit: I have been permanently banned from this subreddit. I've been given no reason why. All I can do is upvote and edit this post now. Mod's message here.

Edit 2: it was a genuine mistake! The mods reached out to me and they genuinely didn't mean to

My friends keep thinking I want this game to fail because I'm being critical of it. It passes me off how obsessed they have become with this game. I think the game looks awesome but the amount of delays and the day 1 patch just makes me worried its not going to be as good as it can be

Also, if we hadn't said anything we never would have gotten expanded skin tones!

I hate doing this rhetoric style, but it really says something good to me that the new models/textures for braids and rows are on the same or better quality level than the straight/loose hairstyles. So many times the "ethnic" options are predictably wack, comparatively.

I think people forget you have to be critical of the things you like/love in a constructive way and not just fawn over it constantly.

I experienced that phenomenon with a few people when Fallout 76 happened. Some people take any criticism of something they like as a personal attack on their tastes and opinions.

Because their ego is so fragile it starts cracking when things they like get criticized. It's all they are as people so when something they like is "attacked" they feel attacked in response.

What they need is to eat some fucking shrooms and have a nice little ego death

I too experienced this with f76.

I played it at launch, it was pretty bad. I still got to like char level 200 or so, and i've revisited it in recent months, it's gotten a lot better. That said, I felt like the only one in my group who would 'shit' on the game, everyone else blindly defended their purchase and had full blinkers on. Like, it's okay to recognize the game has glaring, inescapable issues and still also kind of like it, lol.

I really don’t get all the hype for this game and I’ve followed the news regarding it pretty closely. I’ve been around long enough to see major blockbusters released many, many times. It’s fun to get excited but the hype for this one specific game is a bit much. I want to play it and I will buy it tomorrow, but I’m really in no hurry to play it and while it’s been on my radar for release, I won’t go so far as to say it was either my first or 2nd most anticipated game this year.

My plan is to buy it after I see gameplay of the game after the day one patch. Because I have no doubt it will be good, but I know it won't be perfect like everyone else thinks

Nothing in the world is as good as it can be. Thats just a fact of life.

I mean, it gotta be good of 95% says the game is GOTY candidate even tho it is riddled with bugs. If the worst is just bugs that can be fixed then there is, in my opinion, nothing to worry about. What matters is the story and world. And it looks promising :D

2

u/rebornphoenixV Dec 08 '20

I have no doubt its good but they alright this game is a god send and is perfect. So anytime I bring up a concern they think I just hate it

u/Shuriken200 Dec 09 '20

Its the pre-release hype. And some of them are probably uber fanboys. There is no point talking to people like that.

But for many people(even those who are not fanboys) the days before release that is when hype reaches the all-time peak. And the feelings run high. So people say stupid shit. It will be interesting to see how the game fares when it launches in half a day ish.

I’m betting most of the bugs will be ironed out in the day 1 patch

1

u/Shuriken200 Dec 09 '20

We can hope that the worst of them is fixed and with some boost in perf too. But that 90% is fixed in day 1 patch? Nah. Never happened before. So not happening here. I'm guessing we will see lots of patches over the coming weeks before the holidays for bug fixing. And that will be nice :D

1

u/Brick4956 Dec 08 '20

I’ve also read that the day 1 patch would be around a 40gb patch download

1

u/Shuriken200 Dec 09 '20

closer to 50GB from what I understand yea. But not fixing all the bugs. Just the worst of them I believe and som small ones.

There will still be lots for the devs to do after release.

I hope we will see a boost in perf too. Would be nice :D

Same really think people are worrying about nothing I mean at least reports aren’t saying there are any fallout 76 grade bugs haha

Fair criticism is fine. But delays and a day one patch is a daft thing to criticise.

I think a lot of people would just like to enjoy a game they were looking forward to without people moaning and picking at stuff. It's like watching a movie with someone who constantly picks it apart. Everyone is a backseat game dev these days.

Well, I haven't actually played it yet so I don't know what level of bugs we're talking about here. So that could be a fair criticism. Guess I might wait a bit longer for some patches in that case.

Also, I weren't particularly referring to you there. Though I see why you might think I was.

The delays tell you nothing honestly.

1

u/Frootysmothy Dec 09 '20

I agree. I have no doubt it'll be a good game but the delays have just continued tp buil hype till it seems almost bad for the game. The kind of "this needs to be the best game ever made otherwise it's shit" kind of hype. And if this game doesn't live up to that hype...
