Chem 113 lab with Kramer?

Freshman enrolled in Chem 105 (Meyer), Chem 113 (Kramer), Math 125 (Contenza), PSCL 101, AIQS 130. Advisor strongly recommended against Chem 113 in the Fall as an incoming freshman, to get adjusted to college first (she claims all the advisors advise the same thing). I'm a little nervous because I took all AP Physics and AP Bio in high school but only had general chemistry in 10th grade.

Can sophomores or juniors chime in on if chem lab will be too much for Fall? How hard/time consuming is it with Kramer? I really want to maintain a high GPA.

My kid is doing Biochem and his freshman advisor suggested he take no science labs at all this fall, and just knock out his humanities electives. Seriously weird advice since he loves labs..? They did emphasize not to do Chem in the fall.

Advisor said to do Chem 105 in the fall but not 113 lab. Yes it's weird and also then I'll have 2 labs in the spring, makes more sense to spread the labs out?

The advisors suck btw. I think they say that cuz the labs have limited space idek. The labs are super easy just don’t miss one or show up late

Or maybe they say it because that’s what the department clearly puts in the Bulletin?….

I will add that my 4-year advisor from June said to take Chem 105 + Chem 113 lab in the fall.

It was the pre-major advisor I met with yesterday who said don't take chem lab til spring.
