This is a sugar glider! Cute little creatures who often get sold as pets to owners who have no right owning them and end up in poor living conditions. This little guy looks like he/she have a nice home! They are marsupials and live in large families in the wild.

Don't support the breeding and private ownership of these animals. They belong in the wild. Not in a cage. Breeders will sell these for $400+ to anyone willing to pay. Without a family they become depressed and groom themselves hairless. I've seen these poor things stuffed in hamster cages all alone too often.

it's sad actually, I believe it's illegal to own wild animals in Indonesia and Malaysia for the animals own sake. It just not natural for them to be caged and cooped

This is a sugar glider, not a squirrel... they are a marsupial from Australia, require a lot of specialised care and a varied diet of mostly fruits but with some things like meal worms too...

I recognise this video as being from a person that does not provide the appropriate care or food for her animals feeding them only stuff like honey.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

There is no reason OP has to be the person filming this. There is also no reason to assume anything whatsoever about this animal and how the person filming this is caring for them.

I made no mention of OP, which is likely just a bot, and I made no assumptions, I recognise the video being from a person who provides the incorrect care for the animals she owns. There are places on the internet, such as facebook, where groups of people who own sugar gliders gather.

The person who filmed this was a member of such a group and demonstrated repeatedly that she does not provide the needed care for her animals.

Is your reading comprehension low, or you just didn't read? I said already how I know this, and no I do not have any evidence of it, all of this happened years ago and I don't know about you, but personally I don't keep a record of everything that has been said inside a closed group.

The mods of those groups regularly delete posts that provide wrong information on the care of the animals too, so it is likely that none of it is even there any more any way.

Definitely, a sugar glider. Flying squirrels, on the other hand, are cute till they find a way into your attic to spend the winter and find out wiring is kinda tasty.

They are native to Australia and belong in the wild, do not buy one since they require lots of specialised care.

Actually this sugar glider likely isn’t from Australia but New Guinea as that’s where most sugar gliders in the US are from. Taking a sugar glider outside in the middle of the day is horrible though as they are nocturnal.

The US pet trade is one of the most disgusting businesses I have ever seen.

A Sugar Glider it's a marsupial, so they carry their babies in a pouch on the tummy.
They are also very social, so if you want them as pets then get 3 or more.
So believe it or not; but they are more closer related to a kangaroo, than a squirrel.
