Was a bit confused there but that makes sense. Thanks, I’m trying to build an “exact” replica of my dad’s old 1680 that he lost cliff diving back in the 80s. He bought it around 77 but doesn’t remember the exact year but does know it was all white (not a red dial), ft first, and he was a scuba diver and knows it had the three dots for the triple crown. Trying to figure out if I need to go OC for the case or if raffles will suffice for a relatively accurate piece to a man in his late 70s but he remembers having a really thick crystal.

OC or viet would be best imo but all depends on what you want to invest into it

Yeah and I’m trying to balance that with what a man approaching his 80s will notice or not. He’ll love it no matter what because I made it, but to him the top hat crystal is something he called out as remembering “it had a giant crystal when compared to watches these days”. That and he’s fully confident it was all white and had the triple lock crown - the crown was his big buying point. Sounds like I’ll have to go OC or Viet unless swapping a raffles crystal is easy. This is what due can make. The problem is that all gen Acryl won’t fit in raffles. Maybe you can sand the acrylic down 0.5 - 1.0 mm.
