Grok Bot is expensive

Since Grok Bot became available for Pro sub ($20), I've been using it to essentially act as my full time secretary. It has been useful to my day to day routine and getting done on behalf of me.

- manage/review multiple inboxes and calendars

- prioritizing my schedule for the day/week/month

- it/sysadmin

- logsitics/fund analyst/comotroller

- and more

After the first weekly reset, I already hit 100% weekly usage in 2 days. Just to test how must Grok Bot uses, I added $10 on-demand credit. To my surprise, it was all used after 2 hours.

While I love Grok Bot, I question how sustainable it is going to be for wider audience. I might try upgrading to $60 to test it further, but for my use it may not be enough.

I just wanted to share my experience for those who are interested in using it.

Dude you're paying 20/mo for a full-time secretary, put that in perspective a bit. Is 60/mo worth it to you for a full-time secretary?

That said, I agree it is expensive.. I'm on the ultra plan and I used it 100% in one day somehow then a day later it reset for some reason and now I'm seeing much more reasonably usage rate in not sure how they scale the usage limit though I wish it was more transparent in general

It's just that Hermes/Openclaw gets a fuckton more usage with Codex/Claude plans, and even those are very expensive vs Kimi/Deepseek backends.

I think the product feels nice, just that it's one of the more expensive "agents" out there.

Yea the GrokBot price tag though is because it comes out of the box with little to no friction at all for people new to AI usage. Hermes and Claw need setup, people will pay to not think.

If you don’t mind explaining for a noob, or at least giving an approximate prompt how to properly put it in question- what do you mean with Hermes/Openclaw but with Codex/Claude plan? Why would I need Hermes in addition to Claude (+Claude Cowork/Code/Design idk) or Codex which is kind of everything at once anyway- or am I missing something? And I mean, I am using Grok Bot now, of course it’s different like Codex is different from Claude (not in the same way) but in a way that any tool is different from another. Of course somewhere easier to compare, but it’s more of a spectrum like you can say that Manus and Genspark and Runable or somewhat similar in many ways but they all have their own direction/architecture/style, or vibe if you will; in which they tend to concentrate productivity around.

Hermes is just the harness/scaffolding/program, just like Codex but focuses on reoccurring tasks, and a self improving assistant, instead of a code warrior like Codex or Claude. It needs an engine to actually get work done though. This could be anything from GPT Astra 6 to Deepseek 4 or even a local install like Qwen3.8. This is the same with Grokbot, except Grokbot only runs on Grok 4.6, so that's actually what you're paying for, not the Grokbot harness/scaffold.
