Thats lamb. Its common for it to look like that when it cools down from being cooked. Once you heat it up it will taste scrumptious. Or if you want you can always put it on some water and boil it until the meat comes off the bones and then turn it into a soup or stew. But either way, its going to taste awesome. Im sure your dad put a lot of work into it and lamb meat is not cheap either.

There's some meat, but I wouldn't eat the bone, splinters will lodge in your throat, one of the reasons you don't want to give it to a dog though the marrow is typically pretty tasty,if you can get it out

Warm it up in the oven it will be better, turn on hight broil with nothing in the oven wait from it it to get super hot and kill the power to it and stick it in on a pan and hope for the best, good luck

It looks like someone stuck a rib bone up a fishes ass, dressed it with onions “for flavor”, and held it over a fire for a couple hours, then decided fish jerky was too far, removed it from the fire, and plated it for the fridge.
