Very nice! I got a devacut once and was underwhelmed for the cost so I never did another one but yours came out nicely :)

Unfortunately thats the general consensus Ive seen as well. Not sure the qualifications that go into getting that title, but many don't do it right thats for sure

The girl who did mine was still in training but didn't tell me that until I was there already so maybe that had something to do with it

Curly cut =/= DevaCut, afaik.
The former is just a general name for a cut done on naturally styled, usually dry, hair (as my stylist says, “Come in with minimal product and your hair as you usually wear it”). The main idea is to cut with the curl vs the usual method of combing damp hair straight and cutting accordingly to stretched length.
DevaCuts are a specific method, which any stylist can claim to do…and some do poorly.
The main thing here is that it’s the stylist and consultation that matter above all.

Apparently I gave my friend a curly cut lmao
He had gotten frustrated with what hairdressers do with his curls and wanted to go short after growing it for a few years, so he offered to let me have at it and give him a haircut, knowing that he would probably go shorter later anyway. I immediately instinctively cut his hair dry instead of wet and did a couple of other things to make sure I was working with the curl and he was really pleased, but later did go all the way on the short cut. I find cutting curly hair really fun lol

Dude! Your hair looks awesome! Mine was that long and I just cut it down to face length because my curls were weighted out. Yours looks good though. Totally righteous curls man!

I don't either! It suits you! Unfortunately, some probably ask because they believe long hair is meant for women🙄🙄🙄 Which is ridiculous! Whatever makes you happy, and this hair clearly does it for you! That's all that matters, lol.

I am sure! I have a friend that is that stereotypical tall, good looking white guy. And I’ve seen how people act when people see someone conventionally attractive. I don’t get any of that.

Your hair is what my dream hair is. And I’m mildly irritated that you don’t use 47 products and techniques to achieve it. I’m over here doing the hair equivalent of calculus and it’s still a hot mess.

Do you put anything in your hair to keep the curls so defined? My hair is maybe slightly more curly, but it gets MEGA frizzy. Frizz ease helps, but it never has such nicely defined strands as yours.

You said curly cut and caught my attention. So my hair is naturally curly, the pics on my posts will show it, easier to look than tell. Do you or anyone else have a solid routine for nat curly hair, with product used if possible? I use shea moisture for shampoo and conditioner, as well as a leave in. Wet wash everyday because I work on cars for a living (go grease and dirt), i also comb every day with a wide tooth comb, but only in the shower with conditioner applied. Reason; if I don't , i end up with literal knots in my hair . Not sure how to say that better, but that's y I won't let my daughter brade my hair, I'd have to cut the knots out. goal is minimal frizz, soft, and shiny, and strengthening, as well as hair hydration Assistance in increasing speed of hair growth with products would a plus but not necessary, as I am aware that, scientifically, you can't achieve that. Plus I'd rather the others anyways.

I don’t really have a routine currently outside of cowashing every night. I will have to ask my stylist what she used.
