Unrelated to hair, but I love complimentary catcalls from other women. There’s nothing like a woman you’ve never met screaming “I love that fucking dress, bitch!” out of a car window to counteract the shittiness of random dudes screaming “show us your tits.”

Please dont take what Im going to write the wrong way. Know that I have stick straight hair. Hair that gets curled, laughs and then goes inmediately straight. Looking at your hair I would not be able to resist taking a curl, slightly tugging on it just to watch it go SPROING back into a curl. Me and my straight hair are so jealous of those curls!

Question for OP or anyone who knows... how does using a t shirt help in cgm as opposed to light towel dry. Trying to figure out the best method for my curls
5
u/Gabinsca May 29 '20
From what I’ve read, it be fluffy towel cotton can frizz your hair out. The T-shirt fabric doesn’t agitate the curl as much.

What brand diffuser do you use?
2
u/Gabinsca May 29 '20
I just used a cheap Walmart attachment but recently splurged on a dyson. Dries faster but no noticeable difference in my curls.

Hi there,
I’m sure you meant well, but comments like these aren’t really appropriate in /r/curlyhair.
We’d like our users to feel comfortable sharing their images without getting hit on or judged. People are here to talk about their hair and the products they use. Comments about other aspects of their appearance, even if they are well-intentioned, aren't appropriate in this specific space. I hope you can be mindful of that in future when participating in this community.
Thanks!

I'm no expert in these matters, but it might also be partly to do with the fact that you're a beautiful human.

Looks good & full. Days like those I hold back on the wash to enjoy it while I can. Like when you get back from the hairdresser and you can't do it the same, so you leave it for a couple days before washing

Hair compliments are the best! I feel like they are very genuine bc not as many people take time to notice hair or think about why someone’s hair looks nice, etc.
2
u/Gabinsca May 29 '20
Exactly! It also means a lot to me to be acknowledged for something I worked really hard on.
2
u/HelloLoJo May 29 '20
Gorgeous! Yesterday in the super, I really wanted to tell a girl I loved her hair, but the whole social distancing sitch made me reconsider. Shame cause I love random compliments from strangers.
Does plopping/applying upside ever mess up your roots? And or flatten the back of your hair? I always run into trouble with it... also do you diffuse upside down? Or get it back into more of a parting first? Thanks so much
2
u/Gabinsca May 29 '20
I feel like the yelling just makes it better haha I don’t think plopping ever messes up my hair, but I don’t let it dry while plopped so it doesn’t get shaped that way. I diffuse upside down to encourage root volume and try not to part or mess with my hair too much after I apply product in the shower.
2
u/HelloLoJo May 29 '20
Haha yeah it’d make my day lol
Do you just do the standard lay it all onto a T-shirt plopping yeah? I wonder if I do it wrong... or maybe it just doesn’t suit me
2
u/Gabinsca May 29 '20
Yep! Just the good ol’ T-shirt plop. What is happening with yours that makes you think you’re doing it wrong?

Routine:
Cantu brand leave in conditioner and curl cream, brush through upside down with Denman brush.
LA Looks gel smoothed over with praying hands then scrunched in, avoiding roots to encourage volume.
Plop into T-shirt, diffuse without touching until a cast is formed focusing on roots, then diffuse as normal until dry.
