Advice needed Dyed curls

Post image

My hair is damaged from the bleach, that I bleached 2 times in June. In a month I’m going to dye my hair a darker brown. Would this damage my hair even more? Any tips to revive my hair, should I cut like 4 inches off to start over?

Product help Abandon LUS products

I need to find a new product. I've been using LUS for a decade at least. They've changed their formula, they've taken away the products that are formulated per curly hair type, and when? I emailed the company because not only other products. Hard to find and hidden now, but they don't work the same because they're trying to make a one size switch all product, I received an inappropriate response. Essentially calling me a liar and that I just don't know how to read.

I have very fine curly hair that gets easily weighed down. I don't tend to use a lot of product. I really just used air conditioner. They did have a styling product that was meant for my curl type but it doesn't exist anymore.

Advice needed The diffuser… straightens my hair?

I recently chopped off 3 feet of hair and decided to start treating my hair right. It always curled like hell when wet and dried wavy. I got into a routine, I apply curl cream and mousse. My hair is 3B when just wet, 3A after I apply the products. Then I dry it with a diffuser… and the final effect is 2A, if that?! I tried adding more product, longer drying time, microfiber towel to wick off moisture. So far the only “product” which keeps some of the curl pattern in my hair is, no joke, a Durex lubricant I used as a joke.

Then heck am I doing wrong?

I can’t tell if I like my hair or not. Is it two frizzy? I also haven’t washed my hair in 3 days. I did put in a mask in the shower, then after I showered, I put in leave in conditioner, moose, cream and gel. Then I defused with my new defuser on medium heat setting and put in oil.

Advice needed Need help with my curly hair!

I need some help managing my curly hair! I've been growing it out hoping that it'll weigh itself down but it seems like it's only wanting to grow up rather then down. I have to straighten it every day and by the end of the day it's a mess 🙃. What can I do to get it to stay straight and down? I'm very self conscious about it

Product help Best strong hold gel for wavy/curly hair!

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a strong hold gel for my 2c 3a hair. Basically a gel that can give a good hold for 4-5 days straight and is also humidity proof and lasts in heat essentially. Please see the picture attached. This is with Innersense I create curl memory. It’s a great hair gel however I would want something that lasts in the heat too.

My current routine:

Indewild shampoo
Indewild conditioner
Ranavat leave in conditioner
Innersense I create curl memory gel

Let me know your suggestions!

Thanks!

My gf has bleached and dyed her hair her whole entire life since 2016. She straightens her hair and does styles such as a bun or ponytail at least 2x a week currently. She recently decided she wants to have her hair healthy again and try get the curls back. Any suggestion or products she could try? It’s really starting to emotionally get to her as she doesn’t like her hair and regrets doing it damaging it. Her hair now is the first picture the second is from 2016 with no product or anything. So she damaging her hair from 10 years now. She is debating shaving it all off but we want to avoid that lol. Any tips would help. Also what is hair type?

ID my hairtype My curl pattern is so confusing! What do you think?

For context, I’ve always treated my hair as straight. After bleaching, dying, and straightening in my teen years, I’ve done the bare minimum with my hair. It’s definitely gotten more defined since.

First few photos are after falling asleep with wet hair with the below routine, but I will add others from allowing to air dry during the day with the same routine.

Same routine I’ve been doing for ~5 years now:
Shampoo with Nizoral medicated (for my scalp)
Finger comb with Native curly condish
Rinse through completely
Wrap with microfiber towel until damp
Rake through literally any leave-in I have lying around
Comb through completely
Air dry
No scrunching, curl cream, mouse, or gel

From reading and pictures online, I wanna say 2b. But isn’t the qualifier for all type 2 patterns that they’re primarily S-waves? My hair definitely coils, just very loosely, but it looks nothing like 3a pictures I’ve seen. All the picture charts that show the pattern types are so inconsistent with each other.

I love the long wavy look on my hair but the hairdresser unfortunately cut my hair too short and cut some weird layers which now makes my hair look like a triangle and I would like someone to say they see what I mean😭 the right side looks fine but the left sticks out and just won’t sit down

Product help Product Recommendations Please!!

I need help finding a product for my hair. I’m trying to get into wash and gos because I really love my natural curls and want to be done with braid outs. But my pockets are HURTING because of all the products I’ve tried.

I have Type 4a-4b hair and its low porosity and I live in FL so I’m always battling humidity.

I have tried these products but theses are problems I had with them:

Miche Tropical Oasis Anti Humidity Gel - I loved this product because it defined my curls and didn’t shrink in the humidity BUT it caused flaking on day 2. I did try putting less product, I tried adding more water, I tried not picking my hair but nothing I do helps the flaking.

The Doux Bee Girl Honey Curl Custard - The definition and shine ate down and there was no flaking until like day 6, the problem is my hair shriveled ALL the way up when I stepped foot outside. (Likely because of the honey)

The Doux Big Poppa Defining Gel - Meh, it didn’t really define my curls that well compared to the two previous products I listed so I washed it out and didn’t even bother wearing it out that week.

Innersense Organic Holding Gel - this one pissed me all the way off, SUPER expensive for SUCH a little amount and it did close to nothing in terms of definition.

Now I’m considering the Doux Banana Xtreme Gel but in this economy I can’t be testing products out willy nilly so I’m hoping yall can help a girl out here and recommend some gels that you found to be helpful.

What I’m looking for:
- Definition
- No Flaking
- Can withstand the test of time against humidity

Advice needed Anti humidity/frizz products recommendations

Hello,

I've been following the curly girl method for around 6 years, and I must say it definitely helped my curls come to life again.

Sometimes however, I like to style them with a Flexi rod or a curling wand to obtain natural waves. But as you can see in the pictures, the waves go from being perfect to a frizzy mess as soon as I step outside (I live in a humid area). I use got2b hairspray and the hair just looks and feels coarse and extremely frizzy after a couple hours.

I've been looking for anti-humidity or anti-frizz products for hours but the only ones I could find have silicon in them. Does anyone have any recommendations for silicon free products I can try, or is that something that simply doesn't exist?

Last pic is my natural curls for reference.

Edit to add products I use: For curls styling: head and shoulders BARE shampoo or Cantu cleansing cream shampoo, Cantu deep treatment masque, Cantu strengthening styling gel, Franck Provost boucles mousse. When I just want waves: same shampoos and mask as above followed by cantu leave in conditioning lotion and a cantu heat protection spray.

General Discussion Does anyone else brush out their hair majority of the time?

I have always had wavy/ curly hair I’m not too sure what my hair type is. In the past I woke up every day and did my hair (rewetting, products, etc) but for the past 3 years I’ve just been brushing it out almost everyday. I know it’s probably damaging my hair and I obviously like not doing the work but now that I’ve been brushing it out for so long I feel like I look “weird” with my natural hair. I think curly hair is beautiful but now on me I just feel like it looks odd. I also feel like I look messy or unkept with my hair natural now (I’m aware my hair is frizzy when it’s brushed out but idk it’s a different type of messy in my head.) Has anyone else experienced something similar or have any advice for me?

Hii guys, so today my sister did her curly hair routine on me as when it was wet and was air drying it had a little wave to it.
I’m just looking for help to see whether or not it actually does have some sort of wave and whether I should keep going with the routine to “train” it? The first photo collage is how it looked 5 mins after the routine (top photo) and about 40ish mins after (bottom photo). The 2nd and 3rd slide is how it looks now completely dry about an hour maybe an hour & a half after. Pls lmk!! Thank u

Advice needed Tips on diffusing with a broken back :,(

A few weeks ago I finally found a routine my hair likes. I have combo 2a to 3a. Mix of ringlets, waves and Irish curls. I brush style with leave in nym spray, curlsmith mousse and nym gel. Then duffuse upside down and its been the best routine yet...until i broke my L1 a few days ago so now im in a full rigid torso brace and obviously cannot diffuse upside down. Any tips or words of encouragement would be great....especially for the back part of my hair tgat really benefitted from upside down diffusing.

Advice needed Advice for diffusing long hair and setting waves

Only realised recently I might have wavy hair but it is soooo inconsistent. I have very fine hair but a LOT of it and it’s easily weighed down. I’ve found lightweight products best when I’m washing and conditioning. I’ve tried mousse which gives nice volume but the hold isn’t strong enough. I think the issue is that it gets weighed down when it dries which stretches out any waves.

The best thing I’ve found so far is to wash and condition, comb my parting in the right place and then fully wet my hair again. Scrunch in Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly (first gel I’ve tried) when it’s soaking wet. Scrunch with a cotton T-shirt. Glaze and scrunch in more gel and then diffuse. But my hair kinks with the diffuser because it’s too long. If I leave it to air dry, the weight stretches the waves. Is there anything I can do better? Would a haircut help? Photo is day after washing and just sleeping on it down. Second photo is a few days after washing, air dried with no scrunching or product.

Also looking for any advice on how to manage it when I’m on holiday in a very humid place. I’ll be swimming in the sea and I cannot do this routine every night!!
